Youth sports are meant to be about the kidsâbut sometimes the hardest part isnât the game, itâs everything around it. The opinions, the politics, the noise.
Now being a parent sitting in the stands, you can understand why some sit alone. At the end of the day, Itâs about the kids and watching them do something they love.
1. Focus less on the daily grind and appreciate more of what you accomplish.
2. Itâs important to develop your game on and off the ice.
3. Find someone to teach the efficiencies of the position early in your career.
4. Work with someone that can teach you the visual and cognitive systems and how to improve those.
5. Have fun!
If this was a tough season for you, youâre not alone.
Sometimes simply finishing the season feels like a win.
1. One day youâll realize this is the last time this exact team played together
2. The standings will fade, the memories wonât.
3. Cold rinks and crazy schedules somehow became the norm.
