Vancouver's Premier Basketball Academy VanCity Basketball Academy is the Lower Mainlands premier Youth Basketball Club.
Based out of the North Shore, the club directors have a lot of history in Basketball in North and West Vancouver. Executive Director Jamie Oei played his high school basketball at Argyle and Windsor Secondary Schools. Jamie was part of the 1992/93 North Shore AA champs and was the AAA Howe Sound MVP as the Dukes won the North Shore Championships in 1993/94 and went on to a 4th Place finish at the

We are excited to announce this years recipient of the Ernie Oei Scholarship is Alea Nader.
Alea has been playing in the VanCity Basketball Academy girls program since our very first camp.
Alea has a great personality and has been a leader at her high school and in the community.
Alea has just graduated from Windsor Secondary School, the place where Ernie spent the majority of his years as an educator.
Alea was captain of the Windsor Senior Girls Basketball team this past season and led them to the North Shore Championship.
Alea will attend the University of Victoria in the fall to pursue a degree in Engineering.
We are so proud and honoured to have as our first female recipient of the Ernie Oei Scholarship.

It was an extremely emotional night last night at our Annual VanCity Awards night banquet.
Last night we started a new award to be given out every year going forward.
This award is to commemorate one of our athletes who has gone through a very tough time over the past year and shown resilience and strength.
The award is the Andrea Mundie Resilience Award and is named after one of the strongest and most resilient people within our VanCity Basketball Community. Andrea has battled cancer multiple times including an aggressive form of brain cancer this past year and somehow fights her way back to continue to care for her 4 kids and all the kids in our community.
This years recipient is an amazing young lady named Cali. Cali is a great athlete playing basketball and soccer. Cali has gone through some very difficult times over the past year and all the people in our community continue to support and love her.
Congrats Cali on being our first recipient of the Andrea Mundie Resilience Award
