HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🎉

We're starting the year off fresh! As you know, we're all about balance, and we've decided that with all of the craziness in 2016 and so many more amazing things to come, we'll be focusing on being the best versions of ourselves this year! We'll be doing a lot of self-reflection and self-care, and we want you to be able to follow our journeys more closely and more intimately. We want you to get to get to know each of us better, so we're excited to announce that we'll be retiring Fit Foodies! We want to get more personal and share our own successes and struggles with you all, so we hope you continue to follow us on our individual pages. Thank you all for your support! Let's make this year even greater than the last!

As you know, we are both really into holiday celebrations. We love the food, we love the season, but most of all...we love the people.
We've decided that in order to make the most of the holidays with those we love, we will be taking a short break to unplug and focus on those around us from December 24th to January 1st.
When we come back in the new year, we'll be coming back with a BIG announcement, so make sure you stay tuned!
From our Fit Foodie families to yours, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Crazy hair, crazy face, crazy workout 😜 Getting it done, even on away from home, in a small space, and with the smell of everywhere! What's your excuse?

It's finally again and the last one of this year from Fit Foodies!
It's been a long and hectic week, so I had to opt for something quick and easy this morning.
Would you believe me if I told you that this entire outfit (including shoes) was less than $75?
This loose, flowy shirt was on sale at Joe Fresh and I got to take it home for just $15
The leggings, are my favourite go-to pair from Dynamite and they're thick enough I pass them off as pants (don't judge!) I wear them often enough I was able to justify the $35 they cost me
These cute on my feet were only $20 at Walmart Canada
Finally, throwing it back to the 90s I added a little choker that I got as a gift with purchase from JustFab

Ummmm.... 😳 As if the holidays weren't brutal enough trying to eat healthy. Had to be taunted with this business 😡 What's your weakness?

THIS is what the back of my oven/stove looks like. Hint: this is 🙅🏻not how it should look 😫
Sadly, while this derails some of our holiday celebration plans, it did NOT derail my menu plan for the week.
Thankfully I did enough on Monday that we only need to reheat our meals this week...but there goes my chance at making a turkey this year!

This stuff looks like it's straight out of a movie! Looks weird, smells a little weird, and, at first, may taste a little weird, too. This fresh ginger flavored one right here was made by my brother at home and far better than the one I bought from the store.

You've seen a few of our posts about so now we wanna hear from you! Have you tried it before? What do you think? Have you tried a version? What flavors would you like to try?

Here's the truth:
I haven't been eating too well this week, not necessarily in the sense of pigging out daily, but I did over-indulge last weekend, and haven't managed to get SUPER back on track, yet. I've skipped meals, I've eaten things I KNEW would make me bloated, and I've felt guilty.
What I haven't done, is miss my workouts. I took a day of rest, but other than that I told myself I wouldn't skip the exercise because then I would really be in trouble.
I woke up this morning worried I would hate what I saw, but was surprised that things haven't changed in a bad way. In fact, I noticed a little extra definition in my tummy, and that I was a bit flatter than when I woke up yesterday (I was running around a lot at work).
has 🙅🏻never been my goal. I've always embraced my curves, but wanted a flatter tummy, and I'm so happy to see I'm on the way to that.
Progress is NOT perfection, but maintaining a balance that you know will keep you on track.
Don't give up over the holidays, commit to being fit, commit to yourself.

I have been totally on exercising and totally eating lots of food off my meal plan, even moreso now that I'm on vacation... at my parents' house... during the holidays 😖 I didn't get my workout done this morning like I had planned, and by the time nighttime rolled around, I was feeling especially and just awful overall. SO, I had enough 🙅🏻 Time to get my a$$ up and my s**t together! Crushed my workout tonight, just in time for dinner, and I even recruited a ! Now, if only I could figure out how to take these pants off so that I can shower 🤔

SO. MUCH. TEMPTATION.
Thankfully I'm not much of a kind of girl, and this was just part of a fun day at the office decorating ! It's just further proof that the holidays come with lots of extra and it's important to pick your battles and do your best to stay on track. A few bumps in the road is no big deal, but you don't want to have a major detour.

A few days ago was the first time I'd ever tried curling these 20-pound puppies 😳 Ambitious for me, but working on it, and didn't do as miserably as I thought I would 💪🏽 Always be moving forward, even if it's slowly and little by little. How are you pushing yourself to do better, be better?

I hate how true this is. Especially around the holidays! We Fit Foodies loooooove to eat, and holiday food is no exception. At this time of year I get into baking and cooking up a storm, and coach Mandee goes home and gets to enjoy delicious eats with her family.
But we earn those extra treats! So OK we don't completely negate the bad stuff, but we live by the "life is balance" philosophy.
Work hard. Play (or in our case, eat) hard.
