We know something needs to change but aren’t sure what comes next: I’ve been in that in-between too. It’s part of why I do this work.

Somatic work gives us space to slow down and notice what’s happening within us: how our environment, relationships, patterns and ways of coping shape how we feel. We can get curious about all of that without turning you into a project. You’re a person, not a problem to solve.

I’m not here to fix you. I’m here to give you space to listen to yourself and understand what you might need. I know there’s a way out, and a way back in.

If this feels familiar, I’d love to hear a little about your story and share some of mine. 🫶🏻

Sometimes we call it anxiety because that’s the word we have for the tight jaw, the restless legs, the pressure in your chest.

But when you slow down enough to notice, there might be anger there. Or frustration. Grief. A very quiet no. Or maybe you don’t have a name for it yet.

You don’t have to dig for a big release. In somatic work, we can get curious about the small clues: where you feel the tension, whether there’s an urge to move, what happens when you let your breath out and look around the room.

No forcing a feeling to appear. Just making enough space to hear what’s already there.

This is the kind of work I love supporting women with.

Being an introvert in a people-facing role can mean spending a lot of your day tuned in to everyone else. You deserve space to tune back in to yourself.

In sessions, we slow things down enough to notice what happens when you consider taking that space. What do you feel? What do you need? We make room for the guilt, shame, or grief that might come up, without pushing you to override it or jump straight into a solution.

That kind of supported practice can help your nervous system experience that pausing, listening to yourself, and choosing not to respond right away can be safe. You’re allowed to decompress before you reach a breaking point.

The phone can ring. You’re allowed to stay right where you are.

Sometimes healing is scarier than staying where you are.

Choosing differently can bring change, shifts in your relationships, or even fallout. You might disappoint people who are used to you saying yes, keeping the peace, or putting your needs last.

And still, you choose yourself.

Not because it’s easy or because you don’t care about anyone else. Because you’re no longer willing to abandon yourself to avoid the discomfort of change.

Before bed, this is a gentle way to check in with what you’re carrying, ease some tension and support your nervous system as you settle in for sleep.

Start with your pointer and middle fingers just underneath your collarbone. Gently glide out toward the end, make small circles, then glide back in. Repeat a few times on each side.

This is a nice juicy sensation for me. I can feel it in my jaw and the centre of my forehead, and my tummy is grumbling. Take some deep breaths and let your eyes gently move around your space, taking everything in. Give yourself a moment to notice what you’re feeling and let your body process what you’ve been carrying.

Keep the pressure light and stop if it hurts.

The psoas is a deep hip flexor that connects your spine to your legs. It helps you lift your thigh and move through your hips and trunk.

When we’re stressed, we might notice more bracing or tension through the hips, belly or lower back. That doesn’t mean the psoas is literally holding trauma, but it can be one place we notice tension in the body.

✨ Try this supported stretch:

Place a yoga block under your sacrum. Draw one knee gently toward your chest and let the other leg reach long. Breathe, let your body rest into the support, and notice what you feel through the front of your hip, belly or lower back.

If this position doesn’t feel accessible, use a lower block or a firm pillow for support. You can also keep the reaching leg bent, with your foot resting on the floor, or try the stretch lying flat without the block.

Keep it comfortable. This isn’t about forcing a release. Stay with what you notice and let your body set the pace.

We book massages for tight muscles, facials for our skin, and appointments to take care of just about everything else.

But how often do we think about caring for our nervous system?

Something I wish more women knew is that somatic healing doesn’t always have to involve processing trauma or working through difficult experiences.

It can also be a really lovely form of self care. ❤️

Maybe you’ve been feeling stressed, holding tension in your body, struggling to fully relax, or just feeling a little disconnected from yourself lately.

Those are all wonderful reasons to book a session too.

Through gentle movement, breathwork, body awareness, grounding and optional supportive touch, we give your body a little time and attention.

Some sessions are emotional, some are quiet, and some are simply about slowing down and enjoying an hour that’s entirely yours.

You don’t need to be going through something difficult to benefit from caring for your nervous system.

I’d love to welcome you into my space at Heart of Healing in downtown Okotoks. 🦋

Some years are just about getting through it.

And sometimes the body stays in survival mode long after those years have passed.

Healing isn’t about getting that time back. It’s about helping your nervous system recognize that life can feel different now.

Curious about what a somatic healing session actually looks like? 👀

If you’ve never experienced somatic work before, you might be wondering what we actually DO in a session!

Here’s a little breakdown. ❤️

✨ We start with a conversation. We’ll chat about what brought you in, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you’re hoping to get out of our time together.

✨ We get curious about your body. We’ll explore things like breathing patterns, tension, physical sensations, and how your nervous system responds to stress.

✨ We work with the body. Depending on your comfort level, this might include gentle movement, breathwork, grounding exercises, guided body awareness, or supportive touch with your consent.

✨ We follow your pace. There’s no pressure to talk about painful experiences, force an emotional release, or push through discomfort.

✨ We make space to integrate. We’ll notice what has shifted, how you’re feeling, and what might be helpful to carry into your everyday life.

And here’s the thing. No two sessions look exactly alike. Some are quiet, some are emotional, and sometimes we laugh a whole lot too.

The goal is to help you build a better relationship with your body and learn to recognize what it’s communicating.

Curious to experience it for yourself? I’m accepting clients in downtown Okotoks and online. ❤️
