Do you know when you should check your skates too see if they need a sharpen or if you have a damaged edge?

NOT packing your bag to head to the rink!

Check your edges EVERY TIME you come OFF the ice!

That way you can plan to get them fixed and not be rushed hoping your local rink shop is open or finding a place to get them done.

Here is a skate (both were the same) that I got after being sharpened at one of the biggest hockey stores you can think of in the area. This shows the importance of proper skate holder setup and taking measurements at multiple points and not just the middle. You can see from the before pictures that the middle is level but the toe and heel are low outside edge at the toe and low inside edge at the heel because the skate holder was not level (the full blade was not level with the stone) when it was sharpened.

I take care to ensure that every blade leaves like the after photos!
