Congratulations to a very special GAA student whose hard work and dedication earned him the ability to make the jump from being placed at House League B last season, then being overlooked by his home association last spring, to finding an organization which recognized his ability and added him to their amazingly supportive regular season and playoff championship team, finishing 1st overall with the lowest goals against in the league and going unbeaten throughout the playoffs.

It’s been an absolute pleasure watching you develop into the amazing goalie and person you are.

What a great evening of puck handling, angle and depth adjustments, patience and skill building with a great group of goalies. Thanks to all who attend and make these sessions a continued success.

Parents, are you a shot tracker? You may be missing opportunities to truly help your goalie. This free app helps goalies (and their families) to understand the importance & efficiency of rebound control, packaging data into easy-to-understand reports.

Being proud of the number of shots stopped & celebrating highlight-worthy saves on rebounds in scrambles is great. But the bigger picture is the ability to control the 1st shot through retention or direction to low-threat areas.

Efficient Goalie > Scrambler

Make it (look) easy. Be the nonchalant save-making goalie. We’d rather see quality saves vs quantity for our students. After all, goaltending shouldn’t be a make-work project for yourself (and your team).

Goalie Rebound Tracking

We’re loving to see so much interest from skaters in trying out the goalie position at the association’s weekly goalie clinics, and then continuing to attend regularly.
Thank you to all of the team coaches, convenors, and association volunteers which continue to promote this program, and parents willing to let their children give it a try.

Watch out Ottawa! has a new crop of up and coming goalies which are sure to turn some heads.
This season, NMHA prioritized offering its goaltender registrants in-house development for competitive and house league goalies of all ages. We’re extremely thankful for the opportunity to work with so many fantastic goaltenders through this initiative offering weekly edge work and game situation exercises to all which attend.
