I hold you in my trembling hands—
your fear, your sorrow, your unspoken ache.
Afraid to let you fall,
knowing that if I give you time, you will fly.
Still, my hands tremble
as I softly cradle you, trying to give you space to feel safe.
I hold you in my trembling hands
as I cover you in love, unsure if it’s enough—

As I step into my 46th year,
I am learning to loosen my grip—
on the worry, the doubt, the weight of expectation.
I am practicing the art of release,
not all at once, but little by little, breath by breath.
I want to show up fully as myself,
to move through the world with kindness,
but not at the cost of my own truth.
I hope to shape my days with intention,
offering what aligns with my heart,
and surrounding myself with those
who lift, who inspire, who create.
There are moments when the old habits call—
when I still shrink, still seek approval,
still let the whispers of others
cloud my own voice.
But I am learning to pause, to soften, to shift.
Not everyone will understand me,
and that is okay.
I am learning to let go,
not with bitterness, but with grace.
To let people walk their own paths
while I continue on mine—
lighter, freer, more at peace.
This is not an ending,
but an unfolding.
A quiet, steady becoming.
A promise to myself
to keep growing,
to keep learning,
to keep choosing joy.

Brené Brown defines connection as “the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.” 💕
But also I believe connection expands beyond just human relationships. Humans bond with nature, the earth, perhaps sounds and the animals we share our lives with.
We derive strength from feeling grounded in the natural world, we feel emotions from music, we find joy in the unconditional love of our pets, and from being attuned to the rhythms of life around us. Without this broader connection, we miss out on a vital source of sustenance and well-being.
It is through all of these sources of connection that we feel whole, nurtured, and fully alive.

Sit with your feelings and remember:
Challenges aren’t there
To show you what you lack—
They call you to lean in,
To find your strength, your track.
These moments ask of you
To carve a brand-new way,
Or let the old things go,
Or work for one more day.
Each new path we seek
Takes time to grow and bloom.
With patience, we will find
The light beyond the gloom.
~ much love from me to you
