An update: so far, there’s been 35 women who have expressed interest in a women’s only gym opening in Ottawa through the website. Thank you for that and for sharing your ideas on what you’d like to see and do in your women’s only gym.

Moving forward as this is a long-term goal, following the page and sharing the website with your friends and family and asking them to share their ideas/submit their interest is the best possible way to support an initiative and project like this.

I haven’t been active here in a while, but Umayyah is still alive in my heart—and it’s something I deeply want to bring to life for all of us.

Umayyah is a women-only gym designed for our community: a space where we feel safe, seen, and strong. A place with a prayer room, study zone, gym space, and most importantly—no judgment.

I’ve already had over a dozen women sign up on the website and show interest (thank you)—and I’m picking this back up now to make it a reality insha’Allah.
