K-Trail, and every other multi-use urban winter pathways across the city are NOT the National Capital Commission but we are important and essential partners. We could not operate our respective trails without their blessing, partnership, support, financial contribution and encouragement.

Just like having very supportive parents, Nakkertok Nordic has helped and mentored K-Trail from the very early days and continues to do so today. From LENDING equipment, helping FIX equipment, to cheering from the sidelines; the club has always been there to support.
If you are a young family and just starting out on local urban winter trails but want to take it to the next level, please consider this club.

Something remarkable has just happened in the Canadian Cross Country Ski World that you need to know about.
20 year old Alison Mackie has officially been crowned the women’s Under 23 overall winner of the 2025–26 FIS Cross‑Country World Cup. She has become the first Canadian woman ever to claim this prestigious title; an accomplishment normally scooped up by Europeans where amateur sport, athlete development and funding is at an entirely different level.
Why should we care? Because Alison grew up on skis at age two, skiing on local urban winter pathways in the City of Edmonton - Local Government with her family.
Maybe the next Alison might just come from City of Ottawa Ville de Gatineau one day.
Good things come when a city invests in urban winter pathways in more ways than you think.
Well done Alison! It would be an honour to snow groom for you one day.

Snowmobiles are classified as RECREATIONAL vehicles, yet snow grooming pushes them into the realm of an INDUSTRIAL application. Maintaining the trail is hard on equipment.
Although, not a sponsor; a big shout out to Motorsportsworld Ottawa for their support. We are just not a regular customer! We were their priority. Thx for your support.

Time to put away the snow grooming equipment. (But still more social media coming your way before we are truly done.) Stay tuned.

Have you ever considered just how many people live in walking distance of the trail? There are apartment buildings as far as the eye can see! And some of those buildings are managed by Osgoode Properties Ltd.; a proud supporter of the trail. It is a company that is well aware that having an urban winter pathway near by makes their properties a desirable place to live. Happy residents, happy life.
Thank you Osgoode Properties Ltd. for being part of the trail.

Grooming done for the day. Consider it a bonus. No snow in tonight’s forecast nor is there anything on Saturday, which means grooming unlikely tomorrow but never say never to this winter. Everything is day by day.
