ANNOUNCEMENT:

We are excited to announce that OWEN PRESTON will join the CTA coaching staff for the 2026-27 season. Born and raised in Kemptville, Ontario, Owen was a 4-year starter for the Ottawa Phoenix AAU program, while playing for North Grenville District High School. In his Senior season, he led the Knights to their first and only league championship in the past decade.

Owen recently took over as the head coach at his alma mater, taking North Grenville from a 1-win program in 2025 to 13 wins in his 1st season. Before that, he spent two years as an assistant at Dunnville Secondary School. Owen specializes in helping kids transform as shooters, working with players at the High School and USports level. We look forward to Coach O's future impact on our program.

ANNOUNCEMENT:
Please welcome TYMAL SIMPSON to the CTA SR Red/Gold coaching staff. Not only will the Montreal native assist in coaching but he will also take on a major recruiting role.

Simpson is a well-respected basketball scout/analyst, trainer and coach with over 10 years of experience across the high school, prep, intercity and CEGEP levels. Most recently working with national scouting The Maple Minute, he specializes in player evaluation, recruiting and exposure for Canadian talent, while building a strong network throughout the Canadian and North American basketball landscape.

In addition to coaching and scouting, Tymal has led grassroots AAU programs focused on player development and mentorship, helping over 20 athletes advance to the NCAA, JUCO, U SPORTS and CCAA levels. CTA looks forward to his contributions in years to come!

10 YEARS - THIRD TEAM 2018-19! Today we honour the 2018-19 edition of CTA. Coming off back-to-back National Championships and also graduating 9 of their top players many thought it would be a rebuilding year? This team surprised everyone winning both the Sun Youth Holiday Classic, and the Hodan Prep Classic two of the top tournaments in the country. They would also run the table going a perfect 12-0 in NPA regular season before falling in the National semi-final. An outstanding season nonetheless and maintained CTA’s prominence in Canada’s Prep world!

10 YEARS - SECOND TEAM 2017-18! This team followed up an inaugural NPA National Championship with another one! Going back-to-back was very special it definitely helped put CTA and Ottawa basketball on the National HS map.

10 YEARS - FIRST TEAM 2016-17! The next 10 days we will be celebrating and posting all 10 CTA teams. Today we honour our first team who won NPA National Championship in our inaugural season! Definitely a year to remember and what a beginning!

CTA is the proud Presenting Sponsor of the annual OTTAWA HS ALL-STAR GAME scheduled for Wednesday, May 27th at Notre Dame. Always an amazing evening showcasing the best JR/SR HS talent in the Capital!

Excited to announce that NAZIROU MOUHAMED DIOP has committed to play for our National Gold team. Naz comes to CTA from Thies, Senegal where he's been developing with the Seed Academy. The 6'11 forward was heavily sought after by multiple prep schools in the U.S. but has chosen Ottawa and CTA to continue his life journey. A dominant forward with a 7'5 wingspan he will undoubtedly impact both ends of the court with his extensive offensive repertoire and rim protection. Diop will attract considerable attention from D1 programs - welcome to the CTA Family!

CTA is proud to have three former players signing pro contracts and will be playing in the CEBL this season. JD MUILA who won back-to-back National Championships in our first two seasons will suit up for NIAGARA RIVER LIONS. Both LOUTH COULIBALY and WILSON DUBINSKY played together for two years with us will play locally for the OTTAWA BLACKJACKS. Have an amazing season boys!!
