I’m waving goodbye to IG and FB in 2025
Friends, social media is bad for my brain and my heart. I can’t hold it all and it makes me feel oh so very sad and bad most of the time.
Yes, I love memes and the beauty that exists here too, but tbh it is too much for me, and I am ready for what comes after my bags are packed and I hop on the plane to a life with less inputs from an algorithm that is rigged to have me believe I am broken.
If I want a world that centers feminism, equity, liberation for ALL, that is gentler, kinder, more patient, slower, funnier, actually REAL, I gotta get outta/off of IG and FB.
For now I am archiving my IG on Substack in a reflection series for the year of 2025.
Wanna stay connected? Find me on Substack or on the pod, both linked in bio until the end of the month.
If you have memes you know I’d love, email me [email protected]
Let’s get free friends. For now this is what the next right thing looks like in my life.
Love y’all. Be good to each other & come hang out with me on Substack or on the pod.
I’ll be here until the end of January because the only way I can think of to archive my IG life without deleting everything is to screenshot each and every post. I know there might be an app to help but it’s kind of cathartic to do it and also the goal is to find less, and that is always more work.
Love ❤️ Kate

I have a Substack—link in bio—and I am going to hang out there more often because IG isn’t good for my soul, but is a meme lovers paradise.

Image: Botero sculpture in Lisbon Portugal 🇵🇹 Brain dump from the notes app while traveling 🧳 It doesn’t have to be perfect but you do have to try.
Doing things differently means doing things different.
Yes perfect is a construct.
Yes perfect pushes a false narrative.
Yes perfect is not attainable.
But perfect still tries.
Perfect is persistent.
Perfect is loud.
Perfect is like a used car sales person.
Don’t strive for perfect’s ideals, strive for perfect’s principles.
Audacious
Insistent
Relentless
Using my perfection principles towards another world. In pursuit of joy, liberation, and ease.

Lifting up some folks who are doing great work in the world and have supported me in my business.
Meet Sam Blake.
I've had a the pleasure of working with Sam a number of times through online learning sessions and virtual community gatherings.
Sam is warm, knowledgeable, and always willing to share their tools with other folks in an earlier stage of their work.
Sam has been supportive for me in understanding the technical side of podcasting, and her ability to explain challenging topics via Zoom is nothing short of awesome.
I look forward to continuing to work with Sam, and if given the chance I would absolutely hire her to support my work.

Lifting up some folks who are doing great work in the world and have supported me in my business.
Meet Leanne Giles, .e.giles
Leanne has a podcast editing and production company called the Beautiful Reach. If you are looking for support in getting your podcast ready for the world- she is your person!
Leanne is a great listener- she takes her time, asks thoughtful questions, and is realistic about the scope of a project. I've been working with Leanne on the launch of a new podcast, and I cannot recommend her support enough.
She is responsive, thoughtful, and makes getting your voice and ideas out into the world a little less stressful.
Leanne is professional in her work, meets the deadlines set, and has good communication skills. Highly recommend working with Leanne to bring your podcast to life.

Lifting up some folks who are doing great work in the world.
Meet Billie , an anti-diet movement coach on a mission. Billie has created a place to come and be ourselves, even if that means falling apart and then picking up the pieces we want to come with us in the next chapter.
They blend yoga and self development with social justice and liberation work in a way that doesn't make it scary to stand up and stand with the things that are important to our humanity.
Here is to folks like Billie who are doing the work to make it possible for all of us to feel at home in our bodies while building a world that we all belong.
No matter your experience with movement and yoga, there is a space for you in the Rebel Movement Club.

Lifting up some folks who have helped me in my business! is one of those folks. I met Lauren through my local community. At our first meeting, we got lost in conversation and my dream of hosting a podcast came out from hiding, and the flame was re-ignited.
Lauren has been hosting a ton of awesome online learning circles this year, and they have become a must attend for me. Between Podcast Pals, a space for podcasters and those curious and the content she shares online, Lauren has cemented herself as both my podcast and female entrepreneur comrade. Her willingness to share what she knows is not just kind, it is revolutionary. She understands and lives the ethos that we all shine brighter when we lift each other up.
Lauren is a guide, a leader, a confidence, an experimenter, and a truth teller. I highly recommend getting into her orbit- she is the real deal.

I hired Sophia to do my branding photos for a website update. From our first Zoom meeting, it was clear that she was professional, fun, honest, and would be a great fit. She was available leading up to the shoot for any questions, outfit inquiries, and made the whole process before the shoot really easy AND made me excited to get to her studio for the real thing.
The shoot was the fastest few hours of my life, in between shots we laughed, we connected, and I think we brought the patriarchy down a few rungs- always a WIN! The makeup and hair artist was incredible, and I felt so cared for the whole time.
The photos were in my inbox super quickly and I was amazed at the images, Sophia really got me! When the next photo shoot is needed, I will absolutely be working with her again.
I know that photo sessions can be spendy, especially for solo entrepreneurs starting out. But this session was worth every penny AND it gave me the confidence boost I didn't know I needed to move my work to the next level.
Thank you Sophia (and your team!)
