Good Morning All,
I trust you all slept really good after a 2 day grind!
Lots of questions about results from both days as well as final standings etc.
I will do my best to have everything posted by mid week! I'm taking today off to recoup and spend some time with the family before school and life gets back to normal tomorrow!
Happy Labour Day everyone, đŸ˜€
Enjoy the sunshine.
For those of you looking for specific copies of photos you are welcome to contact Derek Smith via FB. I know some of you already spoke to him yesterday about getting copies etc. He has over 700 photos to go through from the weekend and get ready so please be patient if requesting a specific photo.
Also a reminder that Old School Championship Bass Series is hosting an OPEN tournament on Saturday Sept 19th on Black Donaald and Centennial Lakes Including the Madawaska for teams looking to get in. Info is posted a few posts back. I will also pin to the top of the page.
Have a great day!

09/05/2026

Well that's a wrap for Day 1 of the Championship, Day 2 goes tomorrow on White Lake.
A reminder that all TOW Vehicles require a parking pass which can be purchased on the online app using Honk or picked up at the Antrim Truck Stop in the morning. We are using the Waba Cottage Museum Boat Launch.
2ndly, each team received a ballot to vote for their pick for the Sportmanship Award. Please have these completed in the am and give them to Wes during check in tomorrow morning.
Have a good evening and see you all in the morning.

The Night before Championship Poem.

Twas the night before the Championship and all through the Valley,

Anglers went to bed early as the dawn meant a rally!

Barry and Bill little did they sleep,
as Jimmy and Brian dreamt about a sweep!

Hunter and Alex were sitting quite nicely while Jim and Scott were planning quite wisely.

Tom and the Mike's were looking to strike,
while the rest of the field wondered what it might be like,

To just be able to have 2 great day's and beat the odds and get a chance to stand on the stage!

Just some pre Championship Weekend Fun,
to get you motivated to have a great run!

Now hurry up and get to bed,
for the days will be long on the road ahead!

Good Luck everyone! Day 1 is coming up!

T.

Without further delay here are our Day 4 results for Old School Championship Bass Series. Day 4 would also see Jim Clouthier and Brian Standing starting the day with a 13 point lead and they simply just needed to weigh in to confirm their spot in the CSFL Classic Sept 12 and 13th on Lake Couchiching, and they not only weighed in they did it convincingly with a 4th Place Finish. Congrats again guys and do us proud!
Day 4 also saw a shake up in the top 3 standings with an impressive day put together by Alex Meringer and Hunter Malone weighing a solid bag and also claiming Big Fish and 5 Bonus points.
As it stands, the top 3 seem to be a lock for the season as they currently sit heading into Championship weekend. 4th Place Jim Rodgers and Scott Amisson along with 2 teams tied for 5th, Tom Durocher (Solo) and Mike Farmer and Mike Maczko will need to have very solid days and find a Big Fish perhaps maybe both days for bonus points to try to scrap their way into the Top 3 and maybe some help needed with not so solid days by the teams sitting 3rd and 2nd. The first weekend in September could be a rumble!

As follows for Prizes and Payouts!

1st Place - Barry Grosskleg and Bill Baker
12.72lbs
$700.00

2nd Place - Peter Southgate and Mark Southgate
12.26lbs
$450.00

12.20lbs
$350.00

4th Place - Jim Clouthier and Brian Standing
12.12lbs
$300.00

5th Place - Troy Quinton and Rodney Legere
11.98lbs
$250.00

6th Place - Mike Farmer and Mike Maczko

Top Halo Fishing Rods Team for the day did not go to 1st place this time for the first time so far and instead went to 3rd Place Alex Meringer and Hunter Malone being the highest finishing Halo contingent team on the day.

Draw Prizes as follows awarded to teams outside the Top 8

The Shed Hat and Gift Certificate - Grant Glover

Shimano North America Fishing in Partnership with Allan's Bait and Tackle Prize Package - Bruce Mitton and Jerome Clouthier

We also had some old business to attend to from last season in regards to our Team Sportsmanship Award. This year the Award got an upgrade with some added plaques and the person behind these thought it would be a solid idea to have some plaques made for last years recipients, Ryan and Davey Perrigo. Congrats guys we saw you displaying them proudly. And Thank you again to Jim Clouthier for sponsoring our Plaques.

We had an opportunity to get a group photo and we took it. Looks great and thanks to everyone for participating.

We will have updates coming regarding Championship Weekend in the coming days so stay tuned. in the meantime thanks again, Saturday was a grind but was still a decent day on the water! Stay Tuned.....

08/24/2026

Hoping to have this past weekends results posted by end of day Tuesday. We apologize for the delay!

08/20/2026

Hey everyone, and welcome back after our mid summer break and prior to Day 4 Saturday in Mackey. As a reminder we are using the Mackey Creek Launch. The washrooms there are currently not in use, so just FYI. Also, there is a campground directly across from the launch and we know how sound carries across water so please be respectful in the morning and use your quiet voice.
Ahead of the morning brief just wanted to remind everyone that we have strict boundaries for this event.
As follows:
All Quebec Tributaries, Creeks and Rivers are Off Limits. You may fish the mouths of these but you cannot proceed up them for any reason. There will be zero tolerance if caught going up any water way on the Quebec side.
On the Ontario side we will use Hwy 17 as the max limit you may travel up any creek, river etc.
In terms of the Ottawa River you may run from Dam to Dam
(Swisha to Mattawa). So lots of water to play on. Remember to be careful and mind your navigation. There are unmarked hazards plus floating debris. Some unmarked Hazards were already found during practice by some of our members. Pay attention to your Charts and if you don't know, proceed with Caution.
There is a NO WAKE Zone right at the boat launch and continues up to the first corner of the creek - Again we have zero tolerance for disobeying a No Wake Zone. Please idle out and in when around this area. Signs are posted!
Blast off will be out on the main river, remember that every boat must pass through the Blast off boats, not around them and please do not wash our boats, make sure you are completely past us prior to taking off - We Thank you for this.
Remember to factor in that you need to launch and make it out to the main river by 650am so if you need to arrive a few mins early then please do so.
Any team not attending Saturday please let us know in advance as well.
See you all Saturday Morning,
