Humility comes from the Latin word humilis, meaning "grounded" or "from the earth".

It's not about "having a low opinion of oneself". The emphasis is on having an accurate opinion of oneself — including modesty, openness, broad-mindedness, and a non-imposing mentality.

Comparison: Rewired So it's easy to let the highlight reels of others get into our heads. We are bombarded with messages that continually imply we aren't enough—not skilled enough, not talented enough, not working hard enough—just not good enough.

We all want the obvious, visual improvement, but the roots are the foundation you don’t see in the beginning. Be patient and keep going. It will pay off.
