The Blackstone Knights are proud to announce the signing of 22 year old Louisdale native, Cadyn Power.

Cadyn, a proven point producer at the Junior Level is coming off a strong career in the NSJHL where he co-led the Strait Pirates in scoring in back-to-back seasons, averaging over a point per game over those 2 years.

Cadyn brings a combination of speed, skill, hockey sense and offensive creativity to the Knights. A right shot forward who isn’t afraid to attack, make plays and create scoring opportunities.

We’re extremely happy to add a player of Cadyn’s calibre to our group. His experience, competitive edge and ability to contribute offensively will be a huge addition as we continue building toward another run at the Vince Ryan Cup.

The Cape Breton West Blackstone Knights are proud to announce the re-signing of Chad Wilson.

Originally from Sackville, now residing in Richmond County, The “Chadillac” transitioned into Cape Breton West style hockey seamlessly and performed when the lights shined the brightest.

W***y, (the man of many nicknames) enjoyed himself a fantastic inaugural senior season. He put up 22 points in 20 games, highlighted by his game 5 natural hat trick performance against the Miners to move onto the final round. After going down 1-0 quickly in game 5, Chad found himself a home in the slot and put home 3 quick goals to immediately flip the momentum on route to a 5-3 victory.

In game 5 against the former County Islanders, (now Membertou Warriors) Chad had the primary assist on the game winning goal by Randon MacKinnon proving yet again he will be there in the clutch.

The Knights are thrilled to have Chad back for another shot at the crown and we can’t wait to see what season 2 has in store!

THERES NOT MANY LIKE LIAM TRENNY

The Blackstone Knights are thrilled to welcome back Port Hood native, Liam Trenholm!

After beginning last season as an AP while playing with the Strait Pirates of the NSJHL (after 4 seasons in the MHL) Trenholm quickly proved he was here to stay. Once becoming a full-time member of the Knights lineup, Trenny made his presence felt in a big way.

At just 22 years old, Liam brings a ton of versatility to our blue line. A true two-way defenceman who isn’t afraid to battle in the dirty areas, Trenholm can be trusted in just about any situation. Whether it’s making a big play in his own end, jumping into the rush, or providing a little extra spark when the boys need it most, Trenny brings an edge to the lineup.

And when the lights are brightest, Liam has shown he’s more than capable of answering the call.

In Game 4 of our comeback series win over the Islanders, Trenholm buried the double-overtime winner, keeping our season alive and sending the series back to Membertou.
Then, just 15 seconds into his very next shift, in the 5th and deciding game of the series against County, Trenny buried again, this time opening the scoring and immediately swinging the momentum in our favour.

We couldn’t be happier to have Liam back in the Knights organization, and we can’t wait to see what Year 2 has in store for one of our own.

The Blackstone Knights are thrilled to welcome back one of Margaree Forks’ finest, Matthew MacNeil!

Matty put together a fantastic inaugural season in Knights colours, averaging over a point per game between the regular season and playoffs. A staple on our top line all season long, Matty also logged some big minutes on the power play and played a key role in helping the Knights capture the Vince Ryan Cup Championship. 🏆

And he’s not coming into Year 2 satisfied.
Matty has been putting in the work all off season, getting himself into game shape even further and buying in every step of the way.

With the work he’s putting in and the expectations he has for himself, we’re expecting big things from Matty in his second season with the Knights.

The feeling is mutual, both Matty and the Knights are fired up to get the 2026-27 season underway.

The Blackstone Knights are thrilled to announce the re-signing of right shot D-man, Justin Taylor.

Justin, who hails from Hammonds Plains just fell into our hands by moving to the area (we know. Wow) he comes from a DIII NCAA program in Anna Maria College, he came in at about the halfway point of the season last year and boy, did he turn some heads. Justin’s impact was blatantly clear, immediately.

His pucks skills, first pass, poise and foot speed is all very evident, but what’s most impressive is his 200-foot game. He blocks a lot of shots, has a fantastic stick and his awareness is next level. With his impressive offensive skills, that’s a whole lots to deal with if you’re the opposition.

Justin played a total of 16 games last season including the playoffs, where he put home 3G and 6A for 9 points. Justin scored the OT winner that had big part in turning our season around in the second of back-to-back victories against the at the time, undefeated Islanders

We’re pumped to get Justin back into the Knights lineup where he will be a key piece in every game. We can’t wait to see what a full season will have in store for him.

After having to send it away to get it fixed after the first celebration😅 , the Vince Ryan cup is back on Cape Breton soil and has been making its rounds!

Last weekend some of the boys gathered in Inverness and had a lil’ shindig before the infamous “pig n’ whistle” in Inverness at the Arena. A fun, story filled night where the boys could catch up and have some fun!

Yesterday, in Port Hood the local boys made their way into the Chestico parade thanks to our title sponsor Blackstone Construction Inc
And afterwards, the boys even volunteered to sling some hot dogs and sausages at the “fun day” that followed the parade at the Al MacInnis Sports Centre. Way to go, gents!
