OK THIS!

If you take any advice from me, ever…. It’s to make the coping strategy exist in your life first.

It’s doesn’t mean you can remember it everytime or that you’re perfect at it yet… but let it exist and be there for you.

You’d be surprised as you use it, how your brain starts to rewire. It’s the same as using one paintbrush because you know it, it’s familiar but as you broaden your artistic knowledge, you realize that actually brushes are made for certain things… like leaves and florals.

Soon your brain say, wow 🤩 this is so much easier. Familiar is safe… but this is less time consuming. You’ll experience a shift.

Sick of your old ways of thinking? Wanna shift? Message me for therapy!

"You aren't really healed from it, if you need to cope....are you?"

I had this response today and I wanted to talk about Trauma and Coping.

The term "Healed" is subjective. Are we ever, truly healed of something?

Healing is a journey we are on for the rest of our lives. There will be times with every trauma trigger that we struggle a bit to cope. Emotions come, maybe even unwelcome ones. Tears might muster at our waterline, but we prevail.

Being healed means being able to recognize when we are triggered, apply strategies and cope with the emotions as they come. Being unhealed is reactivity, lack of control and understanding.

Those who commit to getting better, commit to regulation.
Those who are "healed", still may hurt sometimes.
Welcome to humanity.

What I can promise is that as you become regulated, self-assured and confident... you'll be able to use a wise mind in emotional situations.

Today was a hard emotion day for me, but I used my strategies. I used my toolbelt & I feel better.

How are you regulating and coping when triggers come?
