Today we’re excited to introduce Benni Lehman, who is cast as a Ladies Maid and in the Coral Reef!

One of the core values at Cornerstone Youth Theatre is providing positive, Godly role models for students. We believe that what happens off the stage matters just as much as what happens on it. Through mentorship, encouragement, and a Christ-centered environment, students are surrounded by leaders who point them toward confidence, kindness, integrity, and purpose. 💙

At CYT we work hard to support our young performers, helping them grow in confidence, develop their skills, and feel encouraged every step of the way.

Today we’re shining the spotlight on Charlotte Tayler, who is cast as the Royal Announcer!

One of the values we treasure at Cornerstone Youth Theatre is developing a sense of community and fellowship. Theatre is about so much more than learning songs, dances, and lines. It’s about building friendships, encouraging one another, celebrating each other’s successes, and creating a place where young people feel they belong. Many of our students come for the theatre and stay for the friendships that become like family. 💙🎭

Over the course of a production, kids from different schools, churches, and backgrounds come together with a common goal. They learn to support one another, work as a team, and create something truly special together. Those relationships often become one of the most meaningful parts of the CYT experience.

Charlotte has been working hard alongside the cast and is excited to help bring the magic of The Little Mermaid to the stage!

🧜‍♀️🐚 Meet Riley Yamada! 🐚🧜‍♀️

Cornerstone Youth Theatre presents The Little Mermaid, and opening night is almost here! Join us June 12 at the Legacy Centre (1 England Way) as our talented cast brings this beloved story to life on stage. 🌊✨

Today we’re shining the spotlight on Riley Yamada, who is cast as Sister Shelly!

Riley is 14 years old and attends St. Francis of Assisi School in Grade 9. When she’s not at rehearsal, you’ll find her playing volleyball or attending dance classes. 🏐💃

Looking ahead, Riley hopes to pursue a career in sports medicine after college while continuing to keep theatre as part of her life.

In Riley’s own words:
“I would love to thank my family and friends who always believe in me. My dance teachers Keegan and Mrs. Karen for helping me improve in dance, and most importantly God for giving me these gifts and talents to glorify Him.”

Today we’re featuring Addie Kuharski, who is part of the beautiful Sea Kingdom cast!

One of the core values at Cornerstone Youth Theatre is building leadership skills. Through the performing arts, students learn responsibility, perseverance, teamwork, and the confidence to step up and lead both on and off the stage. Whether they’re helping a castmate, learning choreography, memorizing lines, or taking ownership of their role, our students are developing skills that will serve them for years to come. 🎭💙

Every child in the cast plays an important part in creating something bigger than themselves, and it’s exciting to watch young people grow into confident leaders while having a blast along the way!

Today we’re shining the spotlight on Bridget Stuart, who is cast as Sister Misty!

Bridget is 12 years old and attends St. Francis of Assisi School in Grade 7. When she’s not at rehearsal, she enjoys doing crafts, hanging out with friends, dancing, and taking her dog for walks. 🎨🐕💃

Looking ahead, Bridget hopes to continue her journey with Cornerstone Youth Theatre, become a veterinary technician, and travel the world! 🌍❤️

When asked who she’d like to thank, Bridget shared:

The magic is building as Cornerstone Youth Theatre presents The Little Mermaid, opening night is just around the corner! Join us on Friday, June 12 at the Legacy Centre (1 England Way) for an unforgettable under-the-sea adventure! 🧜‍♀️🐚🎭

Today we’re featuring Lilly Murray, who is part of the vibrant Sea Kingdom in this year’s production!

Lilly is 14 years old and attends Iron Ridge Junior Campus in Grade 8. Outside of rehearsals, she loves to sing, play bass, read, write, and create art. 🎶🎸📖🎨

Looking ahead, Lilly plans to attend MC College in Red Deer after high school to become a hairstylist, and later pursue her dream of studying creative writing at the University of New Brunswick to become an author!

When asked who she’d like to thank, Lilly shared:
💙 “I would like to firstly thank my parents for helping me with auditions and driving me places. Next I would like to thank my brother, Caleb, for just being there and giving me tips in life. And lastly I would like to thank all my friends in CYT for making rehearsals and just everything so much fun.”

Today we’re shining the spotlight on Alyce Kamphuis, who is part of the Sea Kingdom in this year’s production!

Alyce is 12 years old and attends St. Thomas Aquinas School in Grade 6. When she’s not at rehearsal, she loves spending time with friends, swimming, creating beautiful watercolour paintings, and tackling wall-climbing challenges. 🎨🏊‍♀️🧗‍♀️

Looking to the future, Alyce hopes to become a nurse someday and continue following Jesus in all she does. 💙

Today we’re introducing Maggie Wigmore, who is part of the Sea Kingdom in this exciting production!

Maggie is 14 years old and attends École Lacombe Junior High School in Grade 8. When she’s not at rehearsal, she loves singing, learning guitar, watching movies, and playing with her cat. 🎶🎸🐱

Looking to the future, Maggie hopes to attend university and pursue a career in acting and singing—and she’s already getting a great start on that journey through Cornerstone!
