Match Recap: Challengers Sneak Past Vikings!
Regina Challengers pulled off a nail-biter against the Vikings Cricket club. We won, and that's all that matters (let’s not talk about how close it was). Final score: 142/6, and we defended it like our lunch money was on the line.
Big shoutout to Vishal Sharma who scored his first-ever 50 in Regina! The guy was batting like he had lunch plans in Yorkton and didn’t want to waste time. Atiq followed up with a classy 35 off 28—looked like he was born with a bat in his hand.
As usual, we lost two quick wickets at the start (tradition at this point), but Yaseen and Vishal held it down. Then Atiq came in and said, “Let me fix this,” and started swinging.
Bowling? Let’s just say the powerplay was… not our proudest moment. Captain Umair bowled like he was trying to find Wi-Fi on the pitch—no rhythm, no signal. Thankfully, Yaseen Khan brought some control and later two crucial wickets, and then Taimoor turned into a bowling wizard. One fiery spell and boom—the momentum flipped like pancakes on a Sunday morning.
Nasim Butt didn’t get a wicket but tightened things up nicely. And Sanjeev? Man came out of nowhere and bowled like it was the World Cup final—took a clutch wicket under pressure!
No captain today, no keeper—but plenty of heart. Challengers don’t back down!
This game was a reminder that we still have work to do—but we’ll take the win and gear up for the next battle against the Titans on July 5.

🏏 Match Summary – Regina Challengers vs Queen City
📅 May 31, 2025 | 🏆 Regina T20 B League |
Tough day for the Regina Challengers as we fell short by 4 wickets in a closely contested battle against Queen City.
We put up 109 runs in 19.5 overs with a strong anchor performance by Attiq U (45 off 53) and steady support from Nasim B (22 off 40). Despite a few early setbacks, we managed to put a competitive total on the board.
In the bowling department, Nasim B was outstanding with the ball, picking up 3 wickets for just 13 runs in his 3 overs. Muhammad Danial S also chipped in with 2 important wickets.
Queen City chased down the target in 14.2 overs, led by a quickfire 40 from Harveen Singh and a late push from Garry S and Moiz. Credit to our bowlers for fighting hard till the end.
Lessons to take, not heads to drop. We win as a team, we learn as a team. No blame, just improvement. Every dropped catch and every missed chance is a lesson to grow. Let’s focus on giving our 💯 every time — on the field, with the bat, ball, and attitude.
We come back stronger! 💪
