A Thank You from Coach Jay 09/08/2025

From the bottom of our hearts…we thank you.
I’m usually not one to be at a loss for words, so the video will have to suffice till we can properly articulate how much this has impacted and moved our family!!!

Love, The Ott’s.

A Thank You from Coach Jay

Week 2 came to a close with an exciting day! Positional review in a an up tempo practice to start, off ice we chatted all things Olympic and ended with a scrimmage. The players were sure to take the time to thank our camp sponsors. Extreme Hockey and Sport & Bauer Hockey we can’t thank you enough for believing in these athletes and what we are trying to accomplish for these young women at All In Solid Gold. We look forward to watching these players continue their development throughout the winter season and to welcoming them back next summer. Best of luck!!

We had another great week at All In Solid Gold! These athletes are certainly putting in the work on ice. With 10 developmental and sequential ice times over 5 days, they gave their pre season preparations a massive boost. Each practice built upon the last and were layered and progressive throughout. Power skating and skills focus, made way for dynamic, multi step drills with increased decision making and mind/body connection. Players challenged themselves to break down old habits and master new techniques ultimately accelerating their development. Improvements across the board! These players are poised to turn some heads! Excellent work everyone!

Time for the Thank You’s!!! First off, huge thanks to all the families for committing to your daughter’s development and supporting their goals in hockey. We had 27 kids attend camp last week from 13 different communities as far away as Swift Current and Estevan. To our camp sponsors Peak 2.0 Hockey & Fitness for letting us use your beautiful space for a couple afternoons. We were able to learn and coach and rep out exactly what we needed for improvement to take place. Thanks Bauer Hockey for supplying the jerseys for the week and outfitting all the volunteers in some great Bauer Swag!!! Biggest Thanks to Extreme Hockey and Sport for once again being our titled camp sponsor. Continually stepping up and showing up for local youth female athletes means so much. The girls appreciate it in so many ways and gain confidence knowing a company like yours knows their value as athletes. Thanks for being “All In” on our camp and maintaining “Solid” community core values. The partnership is worth its weight in “Gold”

Day Four, One More!

The on ice development has been nothing short of outstanding!!

We worked through stations at Practice 1. Advancing our skills in agility, acceleration, compete, shooting and passing. Practice 2 increased focus and intensity with balance and edges, dynamic puck control, transitions, and creativity. The players have all gained confidence in their new skills and are beginning to try them during competitive drills.

We were kept busy off the ice. Avikam Yoga taught us to breathe and be centred as we move our bodies to increase mobility. (Thank you for bringing yoga mats). In Peak 2.0 Hockey & Fitness we practiced all things shooting (wrist, snap and slap), puck control, passing. The improvements are noticeable here too, with many, MANY repetitions. Awesome all around day!!! 1 to go!

Day 3. At the mid point and already so much improvement. On ice we focused on individual skill tactics and placing them into game like scenarios. We built on our foundational positional skills adding in progressions and challenges. Skating for us today was backwards everything and did we ever need it. Some new skills today were puck protection and the girls really learned a lot about this important skill. Our D repped out wall picks and line skills. Off ice we learned about nutrition, static vs dynamic stretching and had some very special guests. Inner Athlete Sport Counselling Came out to give a presentation on the mental challenges our young athletes face. So informative and so needed for these girls. From positive self talk, learning the importance of their why’s and the 4 N’s these girls will now be better prepared for the pressures that come with being a competitive athlete.
