This process will unlock the (previously locked) "BL401" bootloader found in the 2022+ MK8 GTI, Golf R, and Audi 8Y S3 applications in addition to several 2023+ Audi S4 / S5 / RS5 / RS6 / RS7 / SQ7 / SQ8 / RSQ8 applications.
