Yesterday morning was a beautiful fall day and I turned the ponies out on our lawn to graze. They came running around the house and I was able to catch some video 🥰. The ponies make me so happy. Jake is learning that ponies can kick though they don't worry too much about him. He did learn some respect for cows after getting a swift kick to the snout!

Our pastures after the drought are in rough shape, so I put the ponies out in the yard to graze. We're down to 6 ponies and 2 horses. The bay gelding is Mi Higher Power, our stallion and herd sire for many years. Power when crossed with Rivendale Eve raises roans!😊

Here's Joss and her ranch pony Roo aka Rivendale Crystal. Joss trained Roo all by herself with the help of her Nan, Carol.
Joss is a very responsible young lady and paid for Roo with the funds she earned from selling her 4-H steer two years ago. She uses her as her ranch pony and it's so awesome to see the ponies we raised with their new owners. Thanks so much Jamie-Rae for sharing the pictures of Joss and Roo!

It's great to hear how our ponies are doing from their new owners and this week I heard from 2 families. Cass is now a riding and driving pony and looks absolutely stunning after shedding some extra pounds😊!!

Today we made a little girls day amazing!! Livvie has been coming with her grandparents to visit and each visit she rides Hughie. She loves Hughie and he sends love her way as well. Clarke and Denise are good friends of ours and they know how special Hughie is to Liv. I mentioned that Hughie could spend the summer with them so Livvie could see him regularly. We kept it a surprise and when Gord and I pulled into their yard today, Livvie saw Hughie in the trailer and yelled "HUGHIE!". It was so awesome to see her excitement. There is nothing like the bond between little girls and ponies. Carter thought he was pretty good too, though he prefers motorized equipment :). Hugh is a special boy and is one of the first ponies we raised, he is a year younger than Conner and is now 22. He has taught many kids to ride and is the ultimate kid's pony and seems to enjoy the kids as much as they do him. Hugh has a special place in my heart and he will be here for our grandkids when they arrive. It sure is awesome to have someone love and care for him too. Thanks to Ward's Red Angus and Clarke and Denise for taking good care of Hughie (Rivendale Pl***oy). Maybe Hughie will be at the next Ward's Red Angus Customer BBQ! Ward's Red Angus Hutchison Davey

Ruby has been sold. Thank you to Whitney and her family for choosing Ruby! FOR SALE: Rivendale Ruby is as sweet as they come! We are dispersing our pony herd as we are no longer breeding ponies and are offering our mares for sale. Rivendale Ruby is a Welsh Pony of Cob type Section C mare and she is in the 13.1hh range. Ruby is extremely friendly and loves her people and kids. She is the first pony to greet us and has a wonderful temperament. Ruby is an excellent brood mare and is very strong and healthy. She would be an excellent kids pony with training or leadline pony. She's very easy to halter, lead, and catch and will follow you wherever you want to go. She has had the training basics and has been backed many times just hasn't had any formal training. She's been ridden ba****ck with a halter around the farm. Our asking price on Ruby is $1600 plus GST. Please like and share as we really want Ruby to go to a home with a family who will love her as much as she loves them!
