Saskatoon firefighters are on scene of a two alarm fire in the neighborhood of Hampton Village

The wind driven fire affected at least 4 residences and required over 30 personal to get the blaze under control

All residents are accounted for, and no injuries are reported

We ask the public to kindly avoid the area at this time

Not all heroes wear capes… some wear bunker gear and rescue parrots 🦜

Yesterday crews responded to an unusual call after a colourful parrot found itself stranded high in a tree. Thanks to some patience, teamwork, and a smooth aerial rescue, the feathered friend was safely reunited with its owner! Calls come in all shapes and sizes, and our firefighters are always ready to help 🧑‍🚒

As proud representatives of Saskatoon’s Firefighters, IAFF Local 80 is committed to protecting those who protect our community. We advocate for safer workplaces, reliable equipment, strong mental health support, and fair working conditions for our members. We also work to secure improved wages, better benefits, and the resources firefighters need to do their jobs safely and effectively.

Much of this work happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt every day. Through our efforts, our members are able to continue serving Saskatoon with the highest level of care, strength, and professionalism.

Today, on International Firefighters’ Day, we recognize the courage, strength, and sacrifice of every firefighter who answers the call without hesitation.
