there is a street gang here in town called “the snowmen” (they’ve a hitman, stone-cold killer, name of “Frus-T” but with an umlaut, so you know he’s serious). they have all sorts of emblems and graffiti tags, and we realized there was a whole new market there for our glass! this is our first attempt at gang related glass work (their leader’s insignia), almost finished (87%) and currently available for sale! better pictures later. this was a piece we gifted to friends nearly ten years ago. it came back for repair and restoration. the original part was only the green shamrock. i added the icicle-glass circle frame and the braided hanger during the renovation.

we were asked by a friend to make a pink dragonfly. i made this purple one while i was at it. this one's available for sale. there is a repair piece on our bench, and a strange little ant. winter activities at the factory!

the sun co-operated so here are sunny pictures. and it's sold! now the sun is asking for a 7% cut...

a collection of some of the work done at the contraptions factory (formerly magicfish glass). if we included all the dragonflies, tree ornaments, and butterflies, those alone would fill their own collage. sooo many butterflies

we've been gone a long time. small issues turned into big ones. but, at long last, it seems i might be able to operate the contraptions factory again. it will be in a limited way and i don't think custom orders or tight deadlines will be possible, but there should be things here again to see or buy! this first one is a glass chain. i was trying to give the impression of when something orderly, like a fence, has a tree grow into it. the next project will be this driftwood fish. it's getting a glass tail and sail fin. i'll take a better picture of the glass when the sun comes out.

with christmas over we can post some of the secret projects. we were asked for an unusual christmas ornament: the delorean from back to the future! it was a challenging project given the small scale but we were very happy with the result. : ) the customer and the recipient are both musicians so i made the cables from guitar strings.
