“Phosphatidylserine (PS) is a compound that can help to solve a problem all too common for aspiring and professional athletes – a lack of deep sleep and increased “sleep-debt” because of the lingering, accumulating stress that comes with high training volumes and late-night competitions/practices.”

Check out the brief blog post to learn how and why you might consider using phosphatidylserine during your sport’s season.

This short article on BeyPerformance.com explains why I like using the Safety Bar as opposed to the traditional barbell to develop power endurance, as its unique structure allows athletes to better simulate the intermittent alterations between aerobic and anaerobic output that they experience in sport.

We will be putting together two courses on nutrition. One for athletes and one to give coaches some problem solving strategies based on our experiences. In the meantime:

1. I recently realized that my Mifflin formula differs slightly from some others I have seen in that it is down to the decimal point. I think it’s because I used a formula I got from Dr. Chris Mohr’s sports nutrition cert with the . So if you were wondering, that is probably why.

2. With some tweaking to the totals that you get when adding the info from Slide 4, we have found this formula to be effective - especially for weight gain. It works well for weight loss, too, but in my opinion, weight loss can be a bit more nuanced than weight gain.

3. We are not nutritionists by any stretch of the imagination, but this is one way that we begin building a basic framework for establishing nutrition guidelines with our clients. From here, we augment our suggestions with supplement protocols and concepts for meals that clients can tinker with themselves to give them some autonomy, which can be really empowering.

For any interested in the course, DM us and we will save your spot for an early-bird discount when it is ready this fall.

How do you plan for or regulate your nutrition for your goals? Share and let us know. As always, DM with any questions.

Bigger. Faster. Stronger. Happy Training!
