Some of our service calls have us travel to some pretty remote sites. This job's journey over 70 kms of very icy roads was fun. Clients we sold an inverter to 18 years ago had a power outage. Another party had diagnosed this as a failed inverter. That was not the problem, it was actually a failed breaker. Replaced that and got them powered back up. Does your solar installer have the machinery to access remote sites, tools and the know-how to accurately diagnose issues & resolve them?

Located in a remote inlet on the central coast, this floating work camp has always relied on diesel generators for electricity. With a small footprint, you could not escape the noise and smell of diesel.
The client was tired of the expense and hassle of diesel generators and contacted EA for a solution. 6 weeks after the initial contact, the generators are silenced and the site now running on solar. While this site is remote, a 90 minute float plane ride has EA technicians onsite.
Installed system has 22 kW of solar, combined with 2 x 12 kW inverters and 60 kWh of battery storage. Even in November with very little solar, the generator now runs 3 hrs every 3 days.

System upgrade. We set this client in Kispiox, BC up 20 years ago with a dual DR2412 power panel. Remember when those were state of the art? It served well but time for an upgrade to an EG4 inverter and battery setup. Should be good for another 20 years.

Another install, another generator silenced! 10 kW PV array, 12 kW inverter, 30 kWh battery bank.

18 kW off-grid solar system powers 2 construction crews in Kispiox BC. Client contacted EA April 2025 with a tight timeline - June. We got right to work. Pole mounts were locally fabricated. Ground work completed. Cables Trenched. Power room built. Solar arrays assembled and installed.
This system is presently powering 2 construction crews + a lunch room. Multiple compressors, saws, drills and lots of cordless tool battery charging.

When space permits, a parallel upgrade is ideal. The new system is built and brought online, with a short power interruption to swing the AC output cables over to the new system. Then the old system is decommissioned, and the new battery cabinet moved into final position and wiring completed.
The original 24V system was reaching end of life & client was tired of maintaining flooded batteries. So upgraded to 48V Lithium battery bank paired with the EG4 600XP Inverter. Existing solar array re-wired for higher voltage.

Custom, locally made solar pole mount racks for a client in Kispiox, BC. 5.5 kW each. One done, two more to install.

18 kW solar array, 30 kWh battery bank, 12 kW inverter. Client's power room wasn't ready, so EA built a little insulated shed to house the inverter and batteries temporarily.

We aren't fans of this inverter, and would never recommend it to clients. But when a client calls in a jam after 2 electricians + some nearby "solar expert" made a real mess of things and ultimately gave up on it, EA shows up & gets the job done. Required a full re-installation with proper external switching, wiring, reprogramming and software updates.
Modern solar systems have become a lot easier to work with in general. And there are more and more people installing them. Use caution, though as not many people truly understand the products and can diagnose & repair and configure things properly.
