The Paradise Warriors U9 Tier 1 Selects Team would like to say a huge thank you to all of the organizers, volunteers, coaches, families, and every team who made the Avalon Celtics Exile U9 Invitational Tournament such an incredible and fun experience. 👏🏒

In just a few weeks, this incredible group of young hockey players came together and showed exactly what it means to be a Warrior. They played for each other, showed outstanding sportsmanship, battled every shift, and left everything they had out on the ice with grit, determination, and heart.💪

The cheery on top…. Finishing it all off by bringing home the trophy. An unforgettable weekend for an unbelievable group. 🏆

With a simple act—a green ribbon sticker on the back of a helmet in support of our hockey mom Laura Hayley something meaningful began to grow.

Last night, we learned that a grandfather on the Warriors team is also a transplant recipient. In that moment, it became even bigger than our team. With green ribbons on helmets and jerseys, the hockey community is coming together to spread awareness and show support.

April is recognized as Organ Donation Awareness Month. The green ribbon is the universal symbol for organ, eye, and tissue donation—a reminder of hope, generosity, and the lives changed through donation. It honors donors and their families, supports recipients, and highlights the importance of registering as a donor.

Eight years ago, Logan Boulet’s family honoured his wishes following the tragic Humboldt Broncos Jr 'A' Hockey Club bus crash. Six lives were saved through his donation—an act that became known as the “Logan Boulet Effect.” In the days that followed, nearly 150,000 Canadians registered as organ donors, marking the largest single surge in donor registrations in our country’s history.

Let’s continue to spread awareness—because one decision can truly help save lives. 💚
