Team Skanes

Well, it's just me here at Team Skanes today. One of the things we all both love and hate about our beautiful game is the changing of the seasons.

This is the end of a really special period of my career for me. For the last 5 years, I've made two incredible new friends in Spencer and Cory. We had our opportunities and showed flashes of our max potential, but couldn't quite achieve what we set out to do.

For the past 2 years, I've been able to be reunited with Mike after playing together for a long time and then a few years apart. I'm grateful for that time as well.

And this past season, I had the unexpected pleasure of taking on the Brier dream with Matt after 13 years since playing together.

We had high hopes and a strong process. We invested a ton of effort in a season of challenges, but just wasn't to be this year.

I want to thank all 3 of them, along with Cory, our 5th this year and my teammate for the 4 years before that, for everything they gave.

After a period of reflection, Matt will be returning to play out of Alberta, closer to family. Spencer and Mike will be moving on to pursue another opportunity together. And that leaves me looking toward a new chapter.

I hope you continue to follow along all of us in our continuing journeys in the dream to reach the Brier. And I (and confident I can speak for all of us here) can't thank you enough for all of your personal support this season and all those that came before!

Cheers to the opportunities we've had to chase the best versions of ourselves as curlers together, and to what's next.

Thank you to everyone who came out this week to support the team. While it wasn’t the result we were hoping for it was overall a solid year for our first year together. We were able to learn a little more about what we need to be successful going forward. Was great to compete with good friends on and off the ice. Thank you to all of our sponsors.
