The Galapagos marine iguana is found only on the Galapagos Islands. It is a marine reptile that has the ability to forage in the sea for algae, which make up almost all of its diet. Marine iguanas use specialized salt glands near their nasal passages to filter and remove excess salt from their bloodstream.
