Thank you to all the communities that have already reached out to be placed on the registry — the response has been incredible.

If your team is interested in competing, please ensure you register BY EMAIL using one of the contacts listed above. Teams will NOT be selected through social media comments or direct messages. Email is the only way to secure your spot.

To keep the tournament fair and balanced, we will initially be selecting one team per community.
If multiple teams register from the same community, the second registering team will be placed on a secondary list. Should additional spots open up later in the fall, those teams will be considered for entry.

We encourage all teams to come prepared with their strongest, most competitive rosters. This will be a highly competitive tournament — and there may be an opportunity for the championship team to advance to a high-calibre tournament at a later date. 😏

🏒 HOCKEY TOURNAMENT ANNOUNCEMENT 🏒

After months of planning and working alongside communities, we are proud to officially announce the Northern Ontario Hockey Championships coming to Thunder Bay, Ontario from February 25–28, 2027.

This premier event is open to all First Nation communities within the Nishnawbe Aski Nation Territory (including those that are part of treaty 5 and 3), bringing together top talent from across the North for one of the most competitive tournaments in the region.

We want to extend a sincere thank you to the First Nation communities who worked with us to select dates that respect and avoid conflicts with other important community events. This tournament is about unity, competition, and creating something meaningful for our people.

⚠️ Team spots will be limited per community, so we encourage teams to bring their strongest lineups and be ready to compete.

This is more than just a tournament - it’s an opportunity to showcase Northern talent, build connections, and compete at a high level.
