As close to 0 degrees Celsius as it can get. At this moment, standing on the edge of the water, the cold feels like a barrier—a wall between comfort and discomfort. Just before plunging in, the mind races: "It's too cold. Why am I doing this?" But I use that to move towards it.
Over the years, long-distance running and bodybuilding have tested my physical limits, but nothing has strengthened my mental resilience like embracing the cold. Here, I've learned the true connection between mind and body. The initial shock of the plunge, the cold biting at every nerve—it's an invitation to listen to the noise in your head and then let it fade away.
Cold exposure has become a form of meditation for me. It’s a reminder that discomfort is temporary, and every wave of thought can pass if we allow it. The mind will always try to pull us back into comfort, but true growth happens when we lean into discomfort and trust our bodies to adapt.
I’ve found the cold to be a mirror for life itself: a challenge that forces you to be present teaches you to control your breath, and reminds you that resilience isn’t just about enduring but about finding peace within the storm.
So, whether I’m pounding the pavement on a long run or pushing through a grueling lift, it’s this mental fortitude that carries me through. It’s about training the mind as much as the body.

9 months before this picture, I was sidelined with glute tendinitis and a hip fracture— It felt like running was all over for me. Every day for 4-5 months, pain was my constant companion. But I refused to quit. With only 3 months of training, I came back stronger, faster, and more resilient than ever…
I used methods of training that didn’t require the same “pounding” on the concrete as running… Keeping my endurance performance high.
This half marathon wasn’t just a race; it was a testament to the power of persistence. From 1:36 to 1:33, with 174m of elevation and tough conditions, I pushed beyond the limits I never thought possible.💥🏃♂
