Quiet long weekend walk on the Lower Don Trail south from the Forks. Took a look around at the tree removal in progress west of the Leaside Bridge, future Ontario Line crossing of the Don Valley on route to Thorncliffe Park station. Tree removal is also in progress at the ET Seton Park crossing south of the Ontario Science Centre. Many years of bridge construction to follow.

Sunny Saturday visit to Hamilton to check out the evolving West Harbourfront. We parked at Eastwood Park near . Like the wide uninstructed space for walking up and along the various piers. Nice harbour views with escarpment to the west and the skyway bridge to the east that would be filled in with boats in and out of the marinas when warm weather comes. Gathering spots, some entertainment focused, others for relaxing and people watching, some for play. The beach seating is comfortable and hard to resist. New art feature at James Street North. Skating rink was closed but coffee shop was open and very busy. Short walk to West Harbour GO on James Street North. A bit longer walk up James Street to the terrific for a February patio coffee and scone.

View south from one Highland Creek cycle/pedestrian bridge crossing to another. Ellesmere Street bridge is in between. Together they will connect the Meadoway with north-south creek trails to Lake Ontario and the Waterfront Trail.
