Creative thinking 🤹

Did you know that all of our older groups (ages 11+) create their own routines for the year end show? There are varying degrees of coach support as appropriate but the ideas all come from the performers themselves!

We do this to give young minds the opportunities to flex their creative muscles, and empower performers to create routines that they’re engaged with and excited about.

However it has the added benefit of us getting to enjoy some pretty darn creative routines.

Take for example this hilarious routine from Thing 1 & Thing 2. Aerial silks, juggling, stunts, slapstick comedy, this has it all. And the performers made their own costumes and dyed or covered their hair so that ut was blue. A true commitment, and fantastically entertaining!

This is what happens when you let creativity run free!

Are you looking for ways to help build a more accessible community for all?

The Disability Collective is a fully disability-led multidisciplinary arts organization dedicated to celebrating and showcasing work created by disabled artists. Volunteers are the heart of our work, and we deeply value the commitment and passion that each person brings to our community. By volunteering with us, you'll be directly supporting our mission to showcase disabled artists, promote accessibility, and challenge the status quo in the arts.

We are currently seeking volunteers to help with our upcoming event, The Disability Arts Festival. The festival will span two days from Saturday, August 8th from 2 PM - 10 PM at Tarragon Theatre and Sunday, August 9th from 11 AM - 5 PM at Wychwood Barns.

Free Circus Show!

Come support our emerging youth artists in their end-of-week show "Nocturnal Circus".

Join us on Friday, June 28th, from 5 pm onwards at the corner of Church and Gloucester for some pre-march rally hangs. We will march at 7pm or whenever the march gets going.

Rainbow Circus will be marching as a group in the Trans March as part of Toronto Pride. Anyone who wants to celebrate Trans folks is welcome to join us. Children need to come with an adult ally; teens are welcome to come on their own.

We will have our large Rainbow Circus banner as well as some circus props to march with small trans and progress pride flags to hand out. We encourage folks to bring any signs or flags they have at home.

We're opening a few sliding-scale spots in our camps. For anyone who would benefit from paying a little less. Want one? Email us. We would love to see them used!

These are for anyone who would like to join us for summer camps but would benefit from paying a little less. No questions asked, or "proof of need" necessary. The tuition discount ranges from 5% to 25% off tuition fees and can be combined with scholarships and sport funding, as well as paid in installments.

You can register for one of the sliding-scale spots by emailing me directly or checking a box on the last page of our camp registration form.

Our goal is to have our camps enjoyed by as many kids and teens as possible, with finances being less of a barrier. We see this as an act of community that lets us live closer to my values of "circus for all".

So if you're wondering, "should I take that sliding scale spot," please do! This is the foundation of what we’re trying to do with Rainbow Circus, and by using it, you're helping us make this part of the fabric of how we operate as a community. July 6th – 10th Performance camp (12+) $555.00 (experience required)

July 20th-24th Kids’ camp (Ages 7-11) $520.00

July 27th – 31st Youth Camp (Ages 10-14) $520.00

August 4th – 7th Kids’ camp (Ages 7-11) $420.00 (4-day)
