Had an amazing time in Halifax yesterday at ! Huge thanks to the Nova Scotia Association of Industry Sector Councils for inviting me to facilitate a session on mobilizing networks for impact.

Yes, self-care is a must for individuals. AND employers are responsible for ensuring healthy, safe working conditions that don't eat away at resiliency and wellbeing.

Tuesday Mental Health Tip: Talk Yourself Into Goodness

How do you talk to yourself? Have you ever stopped to listen?

The way we label feelings and situations plays a big role in how we respond to them. When we're stuck in fear and scarcity, and when we have embodied trauma, we may tell ourselves that our experience or feeling is wrong, bad or threatening. It's difficult to tap into creativity and possibility when our inner dialogue is punishing and constraining.

A good friend shared this article with me this morning when I found myself visiting the shame pit (have you been? I don't recommend it. Zero stars). It offered a helpful reminder about awareness, intention and the power of rituals to help process and reframe difficult emotions and decisions. I did some intuitive drawing to get out of my head and some energy work to ground my body, then reflected on the internal storm that had torn through me. Interrupting the cycle and honouring the feelings helped me to shift my mindset from fearing the worst to anticipating goodness. Three gifts arrived shortly afterwards, in the form of new relationships, business opportunities and an early birthday present!

The inner guidance that emerged once I had interrupted the downward spiral were:
- What if this anxiety is really creative energy asking to be expressed?
- How is my fear a call to courage?
