Being active is important to me for both my physical and mental health. For too long, society made me believe that because I was plus sized there was no place for me at the gym or in the fitness industry. Today I say a hearty, “EFF THAT!” as I take space for myself and my clients to engage in movement for overall wellbeing.

Being so real with you right now, “fake it til you make it” works but I’m down bad in the trenches right now.
Being a fat trainer in an industry that is image obsessed is as toxic as you think it is! And let me be clear, I absolutely adore the work that I do - creating spaces for people in all bodies to feel safe in fitness - but some days it has me coming apart at the seams
I’ve had people come up to me at the gym and patronizingly pat me on the shoulder after a workout and tell me “it gets easier if you keep with it!”
I routinely get eyed up and down and body scanned by strangers when I tell them I’m a personal trainer. The skepticism and disbelief in their faces aren’t well hidden.
All of this reminds me that the work we do is SO IMPORTANT and there’s still so much more we have to work on.

Not sure if this is a trend or I just saw and doing it, but I loved it and am jumping on
Last week my world got turned upside down 🙃 my structure, routine and stability all got, well, destabilized and I found myself reaching for the comforts that normally soothe me. Movement. Whimsy. Community. Treats.
Grateful for family to cry to. To friends to move with. To support systems who reach out and show love. I needed every last bit of y’all.

My genetics are such that even if I haven’t trained in months, I can still come in cold and lift some heavy s**t. Always had strong quads and biceps the your ex boyfriend would kill for.
Why can’t we get it through our heads that genetics play such a huge role in our bodies and how we move through the world? I will literally never be small, my bloodline wasn’t created that way.
Next gym bro that crosses me is gonna get headscissored 😡
Regaining strength through my supraspinatus and rotator cuff after a long road rehabbing frozen shoulder and tendinopathy.
