A welcome update on exercise recommendations in athletes with cardiovascular disease from the European Society of Cardiology!

Research suggests long-term high intensity endurance training has the potential to increase an athlete's risk of developing atrial fibrillation. However, more studies are needed to better define the threshold of exercise training at which, the risks outweighs the known benefits of exercise.
