Officially known as the Borinquen Point Lighthouse the “Ruinas del Faro” was built in 1889 by the Spanish. However, in 1918, there was a major earthquake in the north-west that severely damaged the lighthouse beyond repair and it was abandoned. More recently Hurricane Maria damaged it even more, but I always love the beauty in decay!
