🌿 Peppermint and Sweet Pete’s are giving away a free entry to the Substance Projects Gravel Race Series!
We’re jazzed to bring into the shop. They’re a Montreal-based women’s cycling brand doing things we love, like partnering with this summer to sponsor the Women’s Podium across the whole Ontario gravel race series. Top finishers win Peppermint kit, redeemable here at Sweet Pete’s.
We’re celebrating by giving away a free race entry to one of the upcoming Substance Projects gravel races.
👉To enter, just let us know you’d be interested! Leave us a comment below, tag someone you think wants to race, or drop us a DM letting us know you’d be down.
And for anyone newer to gravel not looking to race just yet, Peppermint is also hosting a series of women-led Preview Rides before each race - a chance to ride the course, build confidence, and meet other riders before race day. Information is in our bio.
We’ll notify and announce the winner on Thursday, May 14.
You choose from the remaining rides: 🗓 June 7 – Screaming Squirrel, Mono 🗓 August 1 – Grand River Gravel, Belwood 🗓 Aug 29 – Eager Beaver, Mulmur
Open to female-identifying riders. One entry per person. 🌿

Midweek registration is OPEN!
Midweek Criterium Series kicks off another season. If you’ve never heard of it, Midweek is one of Ontario’s most beloved weeknight crit series, bringing together riders of all levels for fast, fun, punchy closed-circuit races. It’s a fantastic way to push yourself and connect with the local cycling community.
Curious if it’s for you? Come into the shop and chat with one of our staff members who race with - the team powered by Sweet Pete’s that was turning heads in last year’s Midweek races (that’s Neal riders are watching take the lead). They’ll tell you everything you need to know, and probably talk you into signing up on the spot.
Follow and to see what it’s all about. Trust us - it’s as exciting as it looks.

TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO REGISTER FOR P2A 2026. Don’t say we didn’t warn you. Link in bio.
Last year two of our team lined up at the start of Paris to Ancaster - Ethan on the Kona Rove LTD for his second time, and Tuvi on the Trek Checkpoint SL 5 for his first. We asked them everything. The full interview is on the blog - link in bio - but here’s what we’d add if you’re registered and race day is coming up fast:
→ Do one hard ride this week. Not long - 4 or 5 efforts of 5 -10 minutes at a pace where you’re working. P2A rewards people who can handle bursts out of technical sections, not just sustained endurance.
→ Find a hill and put it at the end. Martin Road is steep, loose, and comes after 65km. Practice climbing when your legs are already tired. Any long climb in your area will do.
→ Charge everything and check your bike now - not Saturday. Shifting, brakes, tire pressure, sealant levels. Every year someone’s gravel bike comes out of the garage for the first time since October and something isn’t right. Don’t be that person at kit pickup.
→ Use all your race gear on your next ride. The kit you’re wearing, the shoes, the nutrition, the hydration setup. Nothing new on race day!
→ Practice getting on and off your bike. Sounds strange but there are moments at P2A - the mud chutes, tight trail sections, the odd tree across the path - where a smooth dismount and remount keeps you moving. A few reps in a parking lot this week is worth it.
Need any of this before Sunday? We’ve got you - gels, bars, electrolytes, CO2, spare tubes, tubeless sealant, gravel tires, and tools, in store and online. Come see us or shop the link in bio.
Full guide + the complete Ethan and Tuvi interview on the blog. And for even more last-minute prep tips, check out the Consummate Athlete’s P2A race week guide - we’ve linked it in our bio.
Think of it as a ride, not a race.

Small helmets for big dreams!
We carry helmets for little rippers ages 1 and up. Bust out that cloth tape measure, wrap it around their head, keeping it level from front to back - and if their noggin is measuring 45 - 51 cm, they’re ready for their first bike helmet!
Swing by the store and we’ll help you find the perfect size and fit.

Sweet Sunday returns this Sunday April 12 - 7am at High Park! We’re kicking off the season with 60km of good pace and great people.
If the weather cooperates, we ride. If it doesn’t… well, there’s always next Sunday. But fingers crossed, leg warmers on, let’s try to make it happen.

Designed by you!
Marshall brought his Process 134 to the earlier this month, where artists of all ages went to town using paint markers to decorate and design our bikes, and theirs, however they wanted.
This bike blends right into the graffiti around our store in Bloordale. It was amazing to see a theme of positivity and fun; hearts, peace symbols, words of encouragement, and just pure silliness - the sheer amount of 67s is proof.
Sometimes as cyclists we can become obsessed with making our bikes look pristine and perfect. Taking a paint marker (even an impermanent one) to your bike is an awesome way to get over that notion and just have fun with your bike. Which is what cycling is all about, right?
If you or your kids want to design your own bike, or helmet, or water bottle, swing by the store and ask to use our Posca paint markers. They’re water based acrylics, so they’re eco-friendly and will wash off eventually, or with a good scrub - so you can do it all over again! Create your own frame design, or just add some words of wisdom to your top tube.
A huge thanks to Geary Art Crawl for including us in their event, and to everyone who stopped by to get creative and have fun with their bikes. More to come soon!

Sweet Pete’s is heading to the Geary Art Crawl this weekend! is back with and with a spectacular display of local artists, makers, and small businesses.
Come find us outside the entrance to (183 Geary Ave) from 12-4pm Sunday March 8, where we’ll be turning bikes into works of art with Posca paint markers.
Posca markers are water-based acrylics that are eco-friendly and temporary-ish. The designs will wash off eventually with a good scrub, but if you fall in love with your work, you can apply a clear coat later (at home) to make it permanent! We’ll be picking a few of the wildest-looking bikes/frames to display in-store after the crawl.
After you’ve designed your bikes, check out over 20 vendors inside and outdoors serving up delicious bites, drinks, vintage, housewares, art prints, jewelry, and more.
