Challenging your mom to a race when she’s a winning Thoroughbred racehorse is a bold choice for someone whose résumé still says “milk enthusiast.” 🏇😂

His strategy: launch a surprise attack, deploy ALL the legs, and assume she’s forgotten how this works.

Mom: “Sweetheart, you inherited the speed. I kept the experience.” 💅

These pasture antics are part of growing up. Running, turning and playful chasing give young c**ts opportunities to develop coordination and practise using those rapidly growing bodies.

Playing with other horses also teaches the finer points of herd life: reading body language, respecting boundaries, and discovering that inviting someone to play doesn’t guarantee a yes—especially when that someone is Mom.

Today’s lesson: ambition is encouraged. Beating the milk supplier may require further development. 🍼🏁

Out On Bond - Future Schleese Ambassador

Currently accepting scritches, snacks… and contributions to my first custom Schleese saddle.
🐴💭

I’m dreaming of gorgeous leather, custom colour stitching and welting (jumpsuit orange, camo?), carbon fibre for lightweight speed (or just the look). The wish list depends on the saddle model. My expensive taste does not. ✨

Best of all? A fit tailored to horse and rider, with adjustability to accommodate my changing shape as I develop. Because these baby legs are only the beginning. 🐎

Am I old enough to be ridden? No.
Am I old enough to have a luxury wish list? Absolutely.

“With great cuteness comes zero responsibility”…
But brilliant conformation comes with high expectations to perform at the level of athleticism that a horse’s physique predicts. So this guy is creating high hopes 😉

We look at a horse’s build and try to predict what they’ll become. It can tell us a lot, but it can’t tell us everything.

Some horses perform far beyond what their physical attributes suggested was possible. Others have the kind of physique everyone admires, yet never develop the athleticism we expected to see.

A horse is more than the sum of its angles and measurements. Heart, willingness, soundness, opportunity, and the right partnership all shape what becomes possible.

Potential is worth seeing. It’s also more exciting to give a horse the chance to show us more than we expect . ❤️🐴

What’s better than a chestnut gelding?

Two chestnut geldings. 🧡🧡

Because apparently I looked at one walking HR violation and thought:

“You know what this workplace needs? Another one.”

Current allegations include:

• Harassment of coworkers
• Destruction of company property
• Unauthorized snack acquisition
• Excessive noise during business hours
• Refusal to respect personal boundaries
• Creating a hostile work environment for anyone carrying a feed bucket
• Repeated violations of the “we do NOT bite our colleagues” policy

Both employees deny all allegations.

Neither has retained legal counsel.

Both have requested treats before agreeing to cooperate with the investigation.

HR has determined they’re adorable and therefore completely untouchable.

Case closed. 🐴🐴🧡

Thoroughbred Yearling Sale Prep.
They’re more than a hip number.

Long before they walk into a sales ring, their story has already been years in the making.

A carefully selected pedigree match.
Raised in open fields to build strength, resilience and confidence.
Handled with patience to learn partnership and trust.
Conditioned thoughtfully to develop a young physique that hints at the athlete still to come.

Then comes sale prep — walking, grooming, nutrition, hoof care, repetition and hundreds of little details.

But through all the preparation, we never forget the most important part:

They’re still a horse.
An individual with opinions, quirks, confidence, questions and a personality entirely their own.

The sale gives them a hip number.

Before the sales ring. Before the starting gate. Before anyone else knows their name… we do.

We knew them when they were nothing more than a tiny black dot on an ultrasound screen — a possibility we were almost afraid to hope too loudly for.

We watched that first wobbly attempt become a walk, then a gallop. We watched personalities emerge, bodies change and potential begin to reveal itself.

And somewhere along the way, that little black dot became this horse.

Yearling prep is often seen as the final polish before a sale. But setting a young Thoroughbred up for success started long before the first bath, the first hand-walk or the first perfectly presented conformation stance.

It was in every decision made before they were born. Every sleepless night on foal watch. Every scraped knee, growth spurt, awkward phase and carefully managed hoof. Every lesson in leading, standing, trusting and trying again.

The goal was never simply to prepare them to sell well.

It was to prepare them to go well.

So, before this one heads to the yearling sale, there are four-leaf clovers hand-fed by the person who has known her from the very beginning. 🍀

Because after all the planning, science, horsemanship, hard work and preparation… there is still a little room for luck.

Go find your people, kid.
May they see what we see.
May they believe in you as much as we do.
And may this only be the beginning
