When our days are busy and we feel like we're always going, we lean towards indulging ourselves in something that will take our minds off of our stress for a short-period of time. What happens when we don't have time for these indulgences? How can we decompress? That's where self-awareness comes into play. Understanding yourself enough to understand what you need to think, do or say in the moment in order to instill calm into your mind and body is so important. It's an ongoing journey of discovering ourselves but it's the most sustainable long-term solution to handling stress. β₯οΈ

Having a 'blah' Monday? There's an actual psychological reason behind this. It's called, "Languishing". Languishing is defined as the lack of motivation, focus or urge to do anything productive. We all go through it and it was especially heightened during the pandemic. The solution? Getting into a 'flow' mode may be the solution to languishing. Immersing yourself in something you love for at least 30 minutes per day can help trigger dopamine in your brain and slowly propel you out of this phase.

Research has proven that people are at their happiest when they're in a state of flow. This state of flow can trigger dopamine in your brain that lasts for hours throughout your day. The key to getting into a state of flow is to focus on one task that is challenging but not too challenging, have a clear goal and eliminate all distractions. Meditation music or music that helps you relax can also be really helpful. How are you getting into a state of flow today?ββββββββ

For the first two years after we have babies, the grey matter in our brain is drastically reduced - impacting our memory.
