General Electric type MC air compressor governor being rebuilt for a client.

Rebuilding brusholders for 1432J PCC traction motors, right hand unit has stainless steel, clock spring, pressure fingers as opposed to painted steel type at left which are subject to rusting making disassembly very difficult.

These are the more "modern" version of hinged, main drum fingers for controllers with 1" wide segments such as the K-35 and K-36, types.

Westinghouse Traction Brake, M-15D Motorman's Brake Valve rebuilt for a customer. This type is a purely automatic brake valve used on interurban and suburban trains with Type M triple valves with trains up to three cars long.

Rebuilding a General Electric TE-10 magnet ( solenoid ) valve. This is a 32 Volt version used to raise and lower pantographs or apply sand to the rails. It is from a London and Port Stanley interurban car and is over 100 years old. They are much larger and more rugged than modern equivalents.

Refurbishing Electric Service Supplies Co. light fixtures for streetcars at the HCRR, Milton, Ontario, Canada. The original lampholders utilized #4 machine screws to secure various parts together. With patience, they can often be restored.

Three Westinghouse Brakes Australasia Type W, self-lapping brake valves rebuilt for US clients. These are used in Melbourne W-2 streetcars and a number of replica streetcars having straight air brake systems without emergency valves. They are functionally identical to WABCO SA-2 brake valves typically found in small industrial locomotives.

2020 is shaping up to be a really busy year. Right now, I'm refurbishing about two vintage streetcar brake valves a week for various US operations.

Work on London & Port Stanley heavy interurban, #8. Type L-2-A triple valve and GE Type Q Form B-3 quick service valve. Minor leaks were located on the quick service valve, pipe bracket gasket and in a gasket union feeding it. Routine maintenance was done to both valves, cleaning, lapping, application of triple valve oil and testing.
