Happy International Women's Day 💪
A few things I keep in mind when training the women I work with — swipe through if you're curious about how your cycle affects your training.
Today statistically marks the day when 80% of people quit their New Year's resolutions... the second Friday in January - they call it Quitter's day. 🙈
If you feel like giving up on your goals, or you have already, I want you to know you're not a failure!
Take a moment to see what went wrong - common culprits:
🐢 A vague goal
🐢 No clear plan or system
🐢 Trying to change too much
What our friend the turtle did get right is to go slow and steady. I hope you make your goals easier and don't give up.
Share in the comments what you're working towards - I'd love to know.
Wishing you a happy and healthy 2026!

Gazelle started working out with me outdoors this summer, and we’re planning to stay outdoors as long as we can. She’s been getting stronger and leaner with minimal equipment, short workouts and small changes to her diet.
She's proof that you don’t need a gym or a lot of time to see great results. Congratulations on all your progress and dedication, Gazelle -- I love working with you and can’t wait to see you reach your goals! 😊
And as we head back into fall routines, I also wish all of you the best with back-to-school routines and health/fitness goals ❤️

I started yoga 18 years ago, and it’s been a constant in my life ever since — something I turn to when I’m feeling off and always leave feeling better. 💛
This year, I got to share that feeling with my daughter’s grade 5/6 class, leading a few yoga sessions for them. It wasn’t always smooth (teaching kids is its own practice 😅), but we found our rhythm — with lots of movement, play, and a bit of quiet too.
Big thanks to the students for showing up with open minds, and to their amazing teacher for welcoming me into the classroom. I hope yoga becomes a little something they carry with them too. 🧘♀️✨

99 percent of the time I'm in a gym shirt and leggings, but for a family wedding in India, I did manage to get myself into a sari 😅

As the year comes to an end, I’m reflecting on my favourite experiences of 2024.
This is my year in review: Education/Learning edition
I’m truly grateful for all of my teachers this year.
I went through an 8 week performance-based fitness program early in 2024 designed by for an athlete over 40. It was tough, and to be honest, I dreaded the conditioning days but the workouts were so energizing and I felt the difference this year in my speed, agility and strength.
I was so inspired, it led me to want to learn more about conditioning with . Almost done 8 Weeks Out which is a fantastic course. I loved all of it, especially the section on mindset.
I wrapped up a year of Olympic lifting with my coach . I also learned tennis skills each week over the summer at my club’s Ladies night - a program run by women, for women. This is a real gem. I was grateful to share in this experience with two of my clients this year. Thank you Coach Amanda and Coach Linda.
Each week I learn so much from my yoga teacher, Terry who continually inspires me to further explore yoga.
In the summer I attended the conference in person and shared this experience with a client of mine. I learned from some amazing presenters and coaches:
- How to train the bigger body with and
- How to avoid burnout as a trainer (right around the time I felt I was toeing the line with this myself) with
- How to prevent injuries with .j.kerr
- An amazing yoga demo with
Thank you for helping me be better. I look forward to applying what I've learned in 2025, and to continued learning.
Since everyone seems to love these, here’s the latest performance from our family dance crew!
Congratulations and best wishes to my sister-in-law on her new arrival! Excited for the next dance!

I got tibia honest, this may be my most challenging client yet. During our free initial consultation & assessment, I asked if he knew any good skeleton jokes but he didn’t find that humerus at all!
His goals: put on some muscle mass, stronger bone density, improved energy
Current challenges: getting off the couch
Happy Halloween everyone!
