My sweet Abuelita,
You came to Canada alone from Ecuador with courage, faith, and a dream for your family. Through sacrifice, endless tears, hard work, and endless love, you built a life full of opportunities and blessings for all of us.
Because of you, generations of your family have been able to thrive.
You helped raise me and shaped so much of who I am. You taught me faith not only through your words, but through the way you lived. You taught me hospitality, grace, patience, generosity, and what it means to truly love people well. You shared your gifts with me—your creativity, your cooking, your sewing, your art, your healing hands, and your ability to make everyone feel welcomed and cared for.
You gave so much of yourself to the people you loved. Your life was one of sacrifice, service, and quiet yet undeniable strength. Your prayers covered our family every day, and I know we are all standing in the blessings of those prayers.
You were gentle and kind, yet fiercely strong. The most resilient woman I have ever known. The way I love, nurture, care for others, and pour into the world comes from you. Your heart lives on in me. Every meal shared, every act of kindness, every prayer whispered, every person welcomed at my table carries a piece of your legacy.
Thank you for helping raise me. Thank you for loving me so deeply. Thank you for showing me what the love of God looks like in human form.
I will miss you more than words can say, but I will carry you with me always.
Te amo para siempre, Abuelita. 🤍🕊️🌹
