Welcome to the 9th season!!!!!! Here’s how we get game-night ready:

✅Arrive 30-min early to pick up your jersey, meet your team, and get some stretches in

✅Hydrate and get limber! Prevent injury by hydrating and stretching those muscles daily!

✅If you’re new to the league, be sure to also read our guiding principals too.

✅Watch the weather forecast! It might be chilly, it might be light showers, it might be gusty! Wear layers, a cap, and footwear with treads (or cleats if you have).

OUR GAMEPLAY VIBES

Field of Dreamers is a political project. As a community-based q***r and anti-authoritarian space of gathering, our league seeks to re-imagine spaces of play within, against, and beyond the norms and everyday experiences of recreational sports. 

Personal Growth + Mutual Aid – Dreamers come together to share and develop skills. To offer space for everyone to learn and grow in the game of softball at their own pace in a supportive and affirming environment.  Our rules and gameplay are designed to facilitate learning and skill building, but to also accept and create space for a multitude of skills, abilities, talents, and body types to play in the league in meaningful and competitive ways. We track statistics as a way to affirm longevity, development, and the joy of seeing your play transform from year to year.

To this end, our rules are accommodating and change each year as we learn more. Please read our rules updates and changes for this year! Also, know that our Anchors and Mentor players (each team has at least 3), are familiar with these and can support you throughout the season! Ask them if you need support!

🧢WHO IS THIS FOR?

✅New or experienced softball players, including umps, and more!
✅Available to play Sunday evenings at Trinity Bellwoods Park, Toronto, from May to October
✅QTBIPOC folks looking for a recreational league free of corporate profits, toxic masculinity, and unfettered competitiveness
✅Folks who are socially conscious on the diamond, body-affirming, and in touch with the emotional, psychological, spiritual experiences of playing ball – not just the physical!
✅Looking to join a community of radicals, q***rs, migrants, and friends committed to disrupting the power structures inherent in recreational sports!

🎁PERKS OF BEING A SUB PLAYER

💚 Play in at least one Field of Dreamers game this season (May to October).
💚Join in a super low-pressure way to build softball skills! 
💚You can play for free! There is no limit on games (if you’re available and we’ve got a spot open)
💚Participate in training days and social events.
💚A chance to join our full roster next year: sub players who’ve had at least 5 at-bats in a season get prioritized for future seasons!

📢For those who hoped to get on our full roster:

Relationality is a huge component of the league, and, as in past years, we’ve had an overwhelming response in past player registration. These registration numbers are unprecedented for our small community-run softball league!

With this, we will not be accepting new player registrations or have a waitlist for our league this year. However, you are welcome to apply for a spot as a substitute player.

The front/side entrance space is accessible for wheelchairs/strollers. The washroom is not accessible, as it is up a few steps.

Dear (Future) Dreamers

We are excited to offer early registration to *past players* for the 2026 season!

The Field of Dreamers Cooperative Softball Association formed in 2017 with the intention of creating a recreational softball space based on the principles of mutual aid, body liberation, and radical re-imagining of sport. We invite you to continue to be a part of this history! Past players will have received the registration form in their inboxes. Registration closes Tuesday, March 13th at 11:59pm EST.

Please note:

We are not first-come, first-serve but prioritize registrations based on our goals as a league. Learn more about it on our website.

We will be registering new players at a later date. Stay tuned for those details!
