NYR JrA is a member of the South Division in the OJHL, a division of the OHA In 1984 the team changed its name to the Red Wings, but folded only a year later.

From the smooth skating Hockey Hall of Famer Paul Coffey, to the two-way presence of Bernie Nicholls, and to the modern day assistant captain of the Florida Panthers Stephen Weiss, the North York Rangers junior hockey club has a rich and deep tradition of icing, and developing, premier hockey talent.
