Thank you, Saeed Al-Naji, on behalf of all the athletes and coaches you paved the way for as a Canadian basketball Maverick. Over 20 years ago, as a young man, he sacrificed many hours training and opening the AAU basketball trail for youth across Ontario. He fought to get teams into top U.S. AAU events before Canadians were welcome. He was also the mastermind behind the All Canada Classic-Rumble in T-Dot Canada's longest run national high school all-star game, first held at St. Michaels College in Toronto in 2001.

Happy Women's Day! These young women represented in P.H.A.S.E. 1's All Canada Classic-Rumble in the T-Dot national all-star game as Canada's best for their generation.

When no one thought they could hold their own sharing a stage with the best boys in the country, they outshined them every time. Thank you for leaving an umatched legacy 2004-2012.

Learn More About Tristan Martin - P.H.A.S.E. 1 Alumni

**New Blogs at www.JourneyOfAnElite1.com

When Tristan was on the floor everytime a lane opened up or a ball got lose and he was headed out on a break-a-way, the whole gym was standing ready lose their minds. His teammate on-hand will never forget during an open run in "Jungle" Lawrence Heights Community Center, in front of Jim Calhoun, Head Coach U. Connecticut, Tristan jumped over 6'7" Jemino Sobers and flushed a dunk with ease. The packed gym went silent with disbelief, then quiet chatter before erupting into a frenzy. Tristan Martin's legacy would forever be crystallized from that day forward.

Over 20 years ago we came up together, spurned by every level of Canadian basketball establishment as we entered uncharted waters The results, unprecedented because we stuck together on the journey not for recognition from our own but a passion to show the world something great was being hidden on the other side.

P.H.A.S.E. 1’s mandate is to bring a greater awareness of the importance of literacy and 10 years ago we launched an initiative to place 10,000 students in the Air Canada Centre on June 14th to celebrate the release of bestselling author Eric Walter’s 10th instalment of his basketball novel Home Team, co-written by Johnnie and Jerome JYD Williams from the Toronto Raptors and featuring P.H.A.S.E. 1 Founder Wayne Dawkins as a fictional Toronto Raptors basketball star. The backdrop of the event was the celebration of the 10th anniversary of P.H.A.S.E. 1’s All Canada Classic “Rumble in the T-Dot”national high school all star game.

Wayne Dawkins, The Home Team’s Toronto Raptor 07/04/2020

10 years ago, inspired by my work in the community, Canada's #1 children's author Eric Walters collaborated with Johnnie Williams and former Toronto Raptor, Jerome "JYD" Williams to write a best selling children's novel called Home Team. The author's chose to honor me by having the main characters challenged with trying to get "Wayne Dawkins", a fictional Toronto Raptors NBA basketball Star to visit them at their school and work with them to send shoes to underprivileged children in another country.
