Wickaninnish Beach in will be the backdrop for the Vancouver Island Longboard Surf Contest from June 11 to 14, 2026.

This 4-day event is sure to be exciting.

For those attending and for those visiting the area please remember:

You are in the homelands and ancestral territories of the Nuu-chah-nulth-aht and we all visit, work and recreate using the guiding principles of:

hišuk maa ćawaak (he shook maa tsa walk) – everything is one

ʔuuʔałuuk (uu a thluk) – taking care of

iisaak (ee-saak) – respect

Leave your dog at home: Dogs are prohibited in the competition area of Wickaninnish Beach and the surrounding Kwisitis area.

A wolf warning remains in effect across the entire Long Beach Unit, along with several area closures. Wolves range widely and encounters can occur anywhere in the region.

Consider carpooling or cycling to the event. Parking will be limited, please only park in designated parking spaces and not on the grass or shoulders.
