I’m so lucky to teach kids!
They teach *me* so much — like kindness, sensitivity, and curiosity.
I will never get over the honour of sharing spaces with them, connecting with them, and practicing trauma-informed mindfulness and yoga with them 😊🙏🏻
Hope you’re having a beautiful day! ☀️

These are the good days! 🧘🏻♀️🕉️
I started practicing and teaching yoga over 10 years ago. At first, I didn’t realize it was helping me overcome trauma, but, looking back, it really was one of the only things I had to help me cope.
I always asked myself “Why do I want to do teach this?” I feel these questions help us understand our motives, and underlying feelings behind our actions. The goal has always been to pass on the teachings that have helped me thrive through challenging times. Sort of like paying it forward. 💞
I can’t imagine where I’d be if not for all the Great Teachers who have passed yoga down generation to generation, until it made its way all the way to Mississauga, Canada! 🍁
Today, teaching children and teens across the GTA, it makes my heart SHINE to feel like I’m honouring the tradition and passing down authentic, helpful techniques for managing stress and thriving in life. ✨
This post is not meant to be a pat on the back but a CELEBRATION for all of the youth getting a chance to regulate their nervous systems and practice in a supportive community. We’re doing it! 🤸🏻♀️🫶🏻

With school and work taking up so much time, I post only rarely, but wanted to share this awesome news with you! 🎉
This week, I estimate I taught yoga to approximately 590 youths! And I must say each one is a bright and special light 🥹💫
I’d like to thank some of the people & organizations who made this possible… 🙏🏻💞
These yoga breaks help kids learn how to become strong and calm. I love sharing the tools that have helped me do that, too! 💪🏻

Another highlight of last weekend’s — Meeting Professor Pricklethorn! 👨🔬🌲🌳
LOVES tress and wants others to understand them and care about them, too. If that’s not important, I don’t know what is. 😊 🌎 ❤️
Obviously we had to do Tree Pose together! When you're discussing dendrology, it's only natural to branch out and find your balance! 🌳🧘♀️🧙♂️
The Professor generously gave us some of his workbooks! They’re artsy, and witty, and good for kids, classrooms, and adults Check out his website and you’ll see them there ☀️ 🐿 📖

No bad apples here 😜
Apple picking is more than a tradition in our family… it’s a compulsion. 😂
So glad we got to spend the weekend in MTL 💗 .blueberry

Tomorrow is World Blood Donor Day ❤️🩹
If you haven’t already signed up to donate, here’s your sign!
Carol's Light, the incredible nonprofit I've been working for for over a year, is sending a thank-you gift to everyone in our community who donates blood between June 14-21. If that includes you, please send me a message and I will make sure this gift reaches you 🙏🏻

Hello all! ❤️ April 23 is World Book Day & to celebrate, I’m happy to be participating in a book drive with 📕!
Books have power - they help children understand, explore, and ask questions about their feelings 🚀💞
A portion of these books will be delivered to 🏡
⤵️
In addition to giving families a place to stay, they also provide schooling to children who are unable to attend public schools due to illnesses, such as cancer.
🍎 Part of their curriculum involves mindfulness - a practice that helps develop coping strategies and stress management
I’ve never faced cancer before personally, but I know that books have helped me through other struggles in my life - including issues with physical and mental health.
Your gift of one book would be so appreciated to help children and families in their time of need ❤️

One of my fave projects with the nonprofit is our mindful calendars ➡️➡️ every month, a new one comes out
You know advent calendars? It’s kind of like that, but with mindfulness. Every day gives you a different suggestion: an affirmation, an exercise, something to do with loved ones… it always changes. (And, just like with the chocolate calendars, you don’t have to go in order 🍫)
You can print it, or add it to your Google calendar
I do both - I love getting a notification in the middle of the day that says, “Breathe,” or whatever it is
Take a peek at this February’s calendar using the 🔗 in my bio 💝
