some qualities worth acknowledging within each of us right?
it’s been a year you guys.
the shake up of what i thought i knew of my future was so unsettling, helpful, transformative, heart wrenching and beautiful.
from bathroom stall cries to the undertaking of an immensely humbly community recognition, are just a few examples of the turns and opportunities that have presented themselves to this trip around the sun.
this flashback and reflection is reminding me that whatever is happening regardless of the level of discomfort or hardship-
there is high likelihood and potential that the challenging season is conspiring toward expansion.
i stumbled upon a journal entry dating back to last years final days of march and it mentioned something along the lines of seasons of stress teaching us that some adversity in life is actually a good thing.
despite being openly reluctant to change and predictability uncomfortable in relative heartbreak- i’m reminded that it’s up to us to meet tension with the will to overcome it and learn from it.
despite responding to pressure with frantic energy and stress pimples- i’m also reminded that that difficulty and pressure to shift upwards- is an occasion to develop inner fortitude and build anew.
so here’s to acknowledging transformation.
here’s to cultivating faith that life just keeps on getting better.
an ode to all the crying, screaming, moving, holding and self soothing that acted as pillars of support in this journey of processing.
dynamic.

to be human is to be all of this.

repeat. repeat. repeat.
give yourself permission to outgrow what is no longer working in your favour.

to those of you that know me and my tardy tendencies well, its no surprise that i’m posting about christmas nearly 6 weeks after the holiday occurred.
but i’m sharing anywho because the intentions that were exuded through this relaxed and restful few weeks has remained with me to some degree.
and if you care to know, it goes a little something like this
walk and do it often, outside as much as possible
be the DOER vs the done TO in your life
move thy body with gentle intentions to care for it instead of place demand on it
be selective with who you share space with- high value exchanges and visits
appreciate the abundance that exist within current life and definitely wear soft blankets as dresses whilst doing so
oh and have FUN because it’s not a crime to choose joy for joyful experiences
sing sing sing sing. dance dance dance dance dance
eat well, cook vegetables, breathe deep into the belly all throughout the days
write love notes to yourself, to your loved ones for no other reason than to amplify love and ripple it through your world
yes, have coffee and pancakes in the bed
feed thy soul
care for human body
stand in love where hostility, friendship, strain and anything else exists.

how does one even go about this?
how wonderfully uncomfortable it is to be seen this way by so many loving souls.
last week a mantra showed up for me, encouraging me to “hold myself in high regard”
do you relate to how challenging that feels?
i’m over the moon grateful to all those that provided me spaces to practice in, opportunities to grow from and environments to be tenderly held in.
i surely would not dare claim to have gotten to this place in my life without a massive collective effort from the loving force that is my network of people (extended family really)
thank you to each person that attended a class.
thank you to teach mentor that shed insight, direction and inspiration.
thank you to each opportunity that encouraged me to better and grow.
thank you to each community that acted as familial support.
thank you to every space that welcomed me with generous openness.

thank you life for being the ultimate teacher.
thank you yoga for the radical acceptance, softness and awareness that you continue to teach me.
living yoga feels contrary to all of this celebrating until it extends into a long standing cycle of remaining internet own shadow of shyness and disempowerment.
so here’s to US holding ourselves in high regard with a healthy sprinkling of humility.
