Good morning teams. I hope everyone is doing alright in these crazy times. I have got all the winning together and will be distributing your team envelopes this evening at Spectrum Ale Works, 3500 9th ave N, today between 6pm and 7pm. Congratulations to Legends for coming in 1st this year with Bandits in a close 2nd and Florenceville Curling Club in 3rd. Because we were cut short of our playoffs I have split the playoff money equally amongst the teams, including the money I would have spent on food and prizes. So you will get your league winnings plus a extra $100 for playoff money.
So if the captains could meet me this evening to collect the money and split it amongst your team would be great. If the captain can't make it please send another player from your team. If you can't make it at all tonight please let me know and we can work something out. Thank you to all the teams for another great year of pool. And I wish everyone the best in these crazy times and I hope to see you all back next season.

Because of the covid 19 and the recommendations from Alberta Health Services, unfortunately I will be canceling pool league for the rest of the of the season, including super pool Sunday. I will get back to you about your team winnings and such once I have a chance to make a plan. Stay safe and I will be in touch.

SAFETY SHOT: For tactical reasons a player may choose to pocket an obvious ball and also discontinue his turn at the table by declaring "safety" in advance to his opponent. Any ball pocketed on a safety shot remains pocketed.

OPEN TABLE: The table is "open" when the choice of groups (stripes or solids) has not yet been determined, When the table is open, it is legal to hit a solid first to make a stripe or visa versa. Note: The table is always open immediately after the break shot. When the table is open it is legal to hit any solid or stripe or the 8-ball first in the process of pocketing the called stripe or solid.

SHOOTING: In Call Pocket, obvious balls and pockets do not have to be indicated. It is the opponent's right to ask which ball and pocket if he is unsure of the shot. Banks and combinations are not considered obvious and both the object ball and the pocket must be called or it is a loss of turn.
