The postpartum products for moms that actually get used vs. what sits in a drawer đïž
Used constantly: peri bottle, a GOOD waterbottle that actually keeps your water cold, comfy clothes, âgranny pantiesâ/knix underwear (because yes, youâll bleed and you will be sore â trust me, you want something comfy, whether you delivery vaginally or by c-section). Burp cloth stash (youâll never have too many), baby wipes/diy baby wipes (youâll take them everywhere and use them for everything.. even as they get older!). Good nursing bras/tank tops.
Used once, then forgotten: fancy nursing pillow accessories, literally half of the âmust haveâ gadgets on registries.
What you ACTUALLY need is simpler than the checklists make it seem.
Save this before your baby shower registry gets out of hand đ âđ»
Beyond Sleepy Smiles - Attachment-Focused Infant Sleep Consulting
I work to educate and empower mamas on normal infant sleep.
I offer 1:1 support that helps you to validate your instincts without resorting to the use of traditional sleep training!
A day in the life of a newbornâs âsleep scheduleâ (and why it feels chaotic) đ
Newborns donât have a schedule yet - they have a rhythm youâre both learning.
Wake windows are super short. 45-60 mins is totally normal, not a fluke.
Cluster feeding in the evening does NOT mean something is wrong (they could just be going through something as simple as a growth spurt).
Day/night confusion is real and temporary.
This chaos has a pattern underneath it â and it gets easier to read as you learn about normal baby biology (I break this down fully in the guide).
So basically, a baby under 5 months old will have no ounce of a sleep schedule. However, you can have a rhythm to your day that is conducive to helping with their sleep!

Signs youâre touched out as a mom and donât even realized it âđ»
âĄïž You flinch when someone hugs you. Not because you donât love your family. You just desperately want 10 minutes where nobody needs your body.
âĄïž Your skin crawls a little when your partner reaches for you. Not because you donât love his touch, but because youâve had kids hanging off you all day and just need to embrace having your body to yourself for a minute.
âĄïž You need 5 minutes alone in the bathroom just to feel like a person again. Why do kids always feel the need to be on your lap even while you p*e?
âĄïž You crave being alone more than usual.
âĄïžYou get irritated when someone asks for âone more thing.â
Itâs not the request. Itâs that your nervous system is already saying, âI have nothing left to give.â
âĄïžYou feel overstimulated by EVERYTHING.
Noise.
Questions.
Climbing.
Crying.
Someone saying âMom?â 47 times.
âĄïžYou feel guilty for wanting personal space. You wonder, âWhatâs wrong with me?â
Nothing.
You may simply be touched out and overstimulated.
Being touched out doesnât mean youâre a bad mom. đ€
It means youâre a human being who has been needed a lot.
Sometimes the most loving thing you can do is give yourself a little space to come back to yourself.

5 things I wish someone told me before I had a baby đđ»
1. You will not âjust knowâ what to do. Nobody does. You end up Googling everything or doom scrolling socials to figure it out.
2. The house will not always be clean. Some days, but mostly never. Especially as they get older. Let it go.
3. âSleep when the baby sleepsâ is the worst advice ever given. Your mind never shuts off and you wonât actually sleep. And if you do, they wake up.
4. Youâll grieve your old life a little, even while loving your new one. Thatâs normal.
5. You need a plan more than you need advice. Single, married, divorced, working, not workingâŠ. It matters. (Thatâs why I built one â more on that soon đ)

âHow much sleep does my baby actually need?â
If youâve ever found yourself Googling this at 2am with a baby on your chest⊠youâre not alone.
The truth is, baby sleep isnât one-size-fits-all. Figuring out how much sleep a baby needs isnât just about numbersâitâs about understanding your babyâs developmental stage, biology, and cues. Here are the key steps to guide you:
1. Know the General Sleep Ranges by Age.
đđ» Use developmental guidelines as a starting point:
0â3 months: 14â17 hours in 24 hrs (including day/night confusion)
4â6 months: 12â16 hours (with 3â4 naps)
7â12 months: 12â15 hours (2â3 naps)
1â2 years: 11â14 hours (usually 1 nap)
These are ranges, not rigid rules.
2. Track Your Babyâs Sleep Over 3â5 Days
đđ»Write down:
When they sleep and wake
Nap lengths
Overnight stretches
Signs of tiredness vs. overtiredness
This helps you spot patterns and total sleep time.
3. Observe Babyâs Behavior, Not Just the Clock
đđ»Are they:
Happy and alert when awake?
Fussing or resisting naps/bedtime?
Waking frequently at night?
Sleep quality and timing matter more than hitting exact hour goals.
4. Adjust Based on Their Age + Cues
đđ»If your baby seems overtired, gradually shift bedtime earlier or add rest opportunities. Some babies thrive with more than the âaverageââothers with less.
5. Use a Flexible Routine (Not a Rigid Schedule)
đđ»Babies arenât robots. Especially in the first year, they need rhythmânot strict clocks. Anchoring the day with consistent wake, nap, and bedtime windows can help.

đšâšEXCITING NEWSâšđš
Itâs been quiet⊠so quiet on here for over a year now.
Being a mom and running a business is HARD.
Accepting that your last baby is indeed your last is HARD.
Finding yourself again postpartum is hard.
But for me? The most excruciating was learning to accept that every waking minute that I spent taking in my last ever newborn moments would never be something I get to experience again.
PPA/PPD, hormonal shifts, adjusting to being a mom of 2, running a business, and dealing with the punches life threw my way had me pushing my business aside and ultimately putting it on hold completely. I needed to focus on myself and my own mental health while taking a step back.
But now, Iâm back. I finally feel like a weight has been lifted off my chest and that I have a grasp on my life again. I am finally ready to start connecting with and helping mamas again⊠and man am I excited!
I will officially be re-launching my business on March 18th, so keep an eye out for an exciting announcement that you wonât want to miss! đđ»

Brew the coffee and prepare for a day at home in your pjs, itâs been a night!
If you are feeling like that, you definitely arenât alone. Hereâs 4 ways you can reset after a rough night (or a couple đ”âđ«):
đđ» down a glass of H2O, have a hardy breakfast, and THEN enjoy that cup of joe. Jumping straight to the caffeine does nothing but mess with your blood sugar control.
đđ» soak in some vitamin D! We all know that itâs amazing for us, but it also helps boost your mood and tell your body that itâs morning time.
đđ» call on your village. These times are HARD and leaning on people to help lessen the load or just listen to your struggles can help immensely.
đđ» do something for yourself. It doesnât have to be elaborate, even just something as simple as changing out of your pjs can make you feel better and more human.
What do you find helps you to get through the sleepless, rough patches with your baby? Let me know in the comments!
