WHY WE BELIEVE TEC IS NECESSARY: It’s about damn time someone created an opportunity for elite skaters to continue moving and expressing ourselves in a collaborative atmosphere.

WHY WE SKATE: You get to a certain point in your life when being on the ice becomes more of a privilege than it ever felt like before. Skating has the ability to seriously turn my days around and transport me to my happy place. I will take any and every opportunity I have to lace ‘em up even if it’s just for a few minutes just because I know I’ll be filled with all the good vibes after I do.

WHAT WE DO WHEN WE AREN’T SKATING: When we aren’t skating? In my bed! It’s rare to find me not at the rink lol BUT I’m also a Pilates instructor and soon-to-be JOGA coach, so you’d most likely find me doing some sort of physical activity or being a nerd and learning more about exercise science/biomechanics.

WHY WE BELIEVE TEC IS NECESSARY: I didn’t feel like being a synchronized skater in the professional skating world was given its proper value. We don’t always send in reels with the “right” type of skating skills to be given a fair shot, so my inspiration was to create an inclusive platform where all forms of skating were given equal weight. I also hope that TEC inspires a place where learning and performing work hand-in-hand.

WHY WE SKATE: Skating represents a beautiful intersection between art and athleticism. Nothing makes me feel happier than a good song, cool air on my face, full body movement, and glide… except doing that with a group of people! Also, how Canadian is skating?!

FAV WARM-UP SONG: Anything that makes me feel something. Slower songs that allow me to stretch every muscle and get loose. I Love Work song by Hozier or anything by Lana Del Ray When I need a little pick me up, my go-to’s are “Another One Bites the Dust” or “Don’t Stop Me Now” by QUEEN!!!
